Snap Hoop Monster for Baby Lock/Brother (8" x 8") Magnetic Embroidery Hoop for Machine Embroidery

I have the Brother Stellaire and this works great!

This is my initial review as I just opened the snap hoop up. I will review again when I have actually used it. The magnets seem very strong and there is a spacer included for when the hoop is not in use. Good thing. What I am not happy about is that for the price of this hoop we have to put the measuring tape (centered) on all 4 sides of the top section of the hoop. Now getting this centered is not easy. This should have been done at the manufacturer. At the very least, a center mark should have been made on all 4 sides. When you pay $160+ for a hoop, you should not have to finish making it!!!! I can only hope I did it right.I will come back and add to this review after I have used it a few times. Just annoyed.UPDATE: Well as hard as I tried, the centering tapes are not perfect. When I mark my design using the grid (which also doesn't fit inside this "square" hoop because the grid tool has round corners and doesn't fit inside the square hoop) and I get the center of the cross hair lines and match it up with the hoop marking; I put the hoop in the machine and the center is not on center at all. The only plus is that the magnets are strong and will hold terry cloth well. I am going to find another way to remark the hoop to be accurate. If being exact isn't important to you, you will probably like this. I am still annoyed that I had to finish what should be done at the manufacturer. My husband is a woodworker and I know none of his equipment and or accessories comes through this way. This centering tape makes the hoop look cheesy. Truly way over priced for magnets and plastic.

Right size hoop

I have a Baby Lock Spirit with the upgrade. Purchased the 8x8 LM2 hoop with my fingers crossed as there have been reviews where some stated there were issues with the hoop fitting into the machine. Tried it out with a quilt sandwich as soon as received. It slipped smoothly into the machine with no issues at all and held the fabric nicely in place. Very happy with this purchase and the fact that it was received 2 days earlier than expected. Now which size to purchase next....

I make quilts and love this for doing embroidery on my quilts. It has a powerful hold and with a quilt there is no need to use stabilizer so it is easy to reposition the quilt between embroideries. Be sure to use the plastic sheet that comes with them, between the top and bottom when storing so you can get the pieces apart. If you ever catch your fingers between the top and bottom you will be careful in the future to never repeat that experience again (very powerful magnets). This has made quilting my quilts easy. I have also done embroidery on some thick coats and this hoop works great for that (no hoop burn).

Strong magnet. Easy to use. Saves time.

I purchased this product before from this company and it was wonderful.. This time the hoop came with scratches on the top hoop and the magnet was barely catching, Very disappointed, the hoop appeared to be used, and possibly was not the monster hoop as advertised but the older version in the monster box.

I have used this for a number of embroidery designs on various items since I got it a few weeks ago. I especially appreciate that it doesn't cause bends in the fabric as hoops do. I haven't had anything slip out of position. Pay attention to the instructions before you use it and keep it away from young children. It's not complicated, but the magnets are strong enough to pinch your fingers if you're not doing it right, and of course, like any magnet they repel rather than hold if you get it upside down.

It's brilliant . Works on my xj1 like a dream so easy to use. Will get a bigger one next wasn't sure what size to go for and as I didn't have an 8/8 went for this. I'm sure I can justify the price of the largest one soon .

yes it is very good. But it would not work on my machine. I had to buy an upgrade which cost another £120.But it works now.

I thought about getting this hoop for a long time but put it off because it seemed expensive. I finally decided to purchase it and it works so well I wish I had purchased it sooner! Highly recommend.
