On your child's first birthday, place a candle in one of the petals and fill the remaining holes with decorative figures. Add a candle each year and place the figure on the side of a petal until the birthday flower is fully illuminated with candles on your child's sixth year. Candles,decorative figures and brass candle holders are sold separately so you can personalize your own birthday flower with figures that are meaningful to your family. Please note that the solid brass candle holders (sold separately) make the addition and removal of candle easy and safe. The candles will not fit without a brass holder.
