These work best during the warmer months where the water temp will stay warmer near a sunny spot. But we successfully hatched during the winter. Only one ended up growing really well (cold nights in our house) sadly, we learned that even though he was larger in size, moving him to a small beta tank the water was too cold again. Definitely plan to hatch more this summer!

My 10yr old asked for this in her letter to Santa and she set it up immediately on Christmas day because she was so excited. She had sea monkeys before that hatched in only a couple days and we used the same spring water for these and followed the instructions to a t. We've checked every day to see if they have hatched but, it's been 12 days now so clearly they're not going to. Very disappointing as she was so excited for this.

The box was delivered opened and ripped. I’m not sure if all the pieces are in there but it looks like it was a resell.

Sent this to my friend's son for Christmas. She said it was good quality and fancier than any kit she had ever seen.

I’m a Triops hobbyist and wanted to try out this kit. Kits like this (and by Toyops) are largely considered the best for eggs in the community. The set up it came with was flimsy and not something I’d put triops in (especially if you want them to live long/thrive). I have my own tank with everything they enjoy: sand to dig in, plants to munch on, micro filter. So on. In my opinion, it’s worth the price for the eggs alone. The hatch rate is insanely good. I used spring water, a Tupperware container that had never been used (no dish soap residue), and have it floating in their adult tank for temperature acclimation. I have the LED light on them for 24 hours and they hatched super quickly and in great numbers! I plan to update this review as they grow to see how hardy they are. So far, pleased with the eggs in the kit. The included “tank” is not why you buy the kit.

Very easy to get it all together. Great project for kids. Always something noticeable and notable every day. So much fun to watch. Great yield for the eggs.

Children will be very disappointed at outcome, very precise and difficult conditions must be maintained for hatching. Only one survived.
