doesnt work
The distributor itself was fine other than the fact that if you install it, the warrenty is void. However, the TFI or ignition control module did not work, and it took me about two days to figure out why my truck wouldnt run right. by the way, if you make the risky decision to buy this and then have to replace the tfi module, the normal tool will not work, as instead of 7/32 bolts holding it on, they are phillips screws. I strongly reccomend spending the extra 30$ to buy this from autozone, where at least you can return it no hassle if it doesnt work.

Unit failed within 3-5 minutes
Lot of work to replace it and it’s failure did not impress. Will attempt to get a replacement

Bad out of the box
Module was bad out of the box. Took me a whole day to troubleshoot. Also, it's ridiculous that there's a sticker on the cap that says "warranty void if removed" when you HAVE to remove the cap to install it. So basically they can send you any piece of junk in a box (like they did with me) and never send a refund because you followed normal installation procedures.

this may not be what will work for you
i have been 'messing around' with the new engine i put in my 1988 ford ranger 2.9l and kept coming up with a diagnostic trouble code #18 .. it ends up there are two different TFI modules for these engines.. one comes as a gray colored, and one as a black... the gray one is missing a small resistor that is in the black one.. replace your own with only the same color module and you may just have things work fine..
