I took this hat to Spain to look more fashionable than my Tilly. You just pop the top of the hat up and fold it into quarters when you pack it and it reforms itself beautifully when you get to your destination. My mom saw pictures of me in Spain with this hat and immediately ordered one for herself. She used the inner drawstrings to make it fit her smaller head; no need for the velcro pieces.

Which actually it did shade that more than a regular.But I’m weird and the tighter and looser strip felt weird. I paid for this so don’t get me wrong I’ll use it again. I’ll just remember to keep I mind the straps some may or may not feel

I found the hat too large for my hairless head, and the brim is larger than I am comfortable with, as it kept hitting my back. That said, this IS a sun hat, and IS designed to protect your face and neck from the sun, and I believe it would be lovely used for its designed purpose...I was seeking a fashion hat.As a sun hat the brim will definitely protect you, the design was lovely, the weave tight, and quite soft. The hat is sturdy, yet collapses/folds down nicely. All in all, this is a perfectly designed sun hat, offering superior sun protection, and would be ideal in a hot, sunny environment.
