Blue Mountain Passion

Could have been much better 2.5 stars
This was a good premise, a little different than the typical western romances but it fell flat really quickly. Meagan was hard to figure out. At times, very immature yet she could ride as well as any man. Hard to believe scenarios like Cole fell in love and went to bed with Samantha after only three days. Too many unrealistic scenarios and not enough character development. Most of the last half of the story was spent in misunderstandings. It could have used a proofreader or something to catch the missing punctuation and incorrect words. Not so many as to detract from the story, just annoying. The most noticeable was Coal for Cole.

Not quite there
This book started out ok but by page 2 I realized that it was not flowing smoothly. The writing is stilted and choppy and Cole does strange things unrealistically. I love western romance and even the fluffy ones I get through but this one is not touching me at all. I enjoy intelligent books with heart, even if the plot is bad. For me execution is everything. There are authors and there are authors who holds your attention. This one did not do it for me. Sorry, but its just me, you may like it.

Good Read
This was a good read, won't be among my favorites but good never the less. Lots of misunderstandings in this story made it tiresome in places.

Beautifully written. Rare to find a western novel with a complex story line that takes a few twists and turns. Enjoyed the read. Waiting for Deanna's next novel.

a dramatic western romance
"Blue Mountain Passion" is often dramatic, very romantic, and sometimes funny. I've chuckled about the heroine taking cooking lessons while continuing to prepare not-so-good meals for the menfolks. I'd give it four stars.
