My son loved it
My littlest one is really into science and he loved this kit. He made the water tornado thing and still plays with it every day. He'll just walk by and shake it. The volcano was a one time thing (for us, you could probably supply your own stuff and do it again and again, but this mama says no) but he keeps the volcano mold on a shelf in his bedroom. Fun stuff.

Great Project!!!
The media could not be loaded. This was very easy to assemble! My 4th grader had a science project to build a volcano and this one did not disappoint!!!! It Explodes!!! His classmates enjoyed his presentation and he learned and had fun while making it!!! And it has two more projects we can work on!

Seems fine, but plaster bag was cut
As other reviewers have noted, there can be an issue with one of the 2 bags in this kit. One is a ziplock bag that contains most of the items in the kit (and safe from the plaster powder) and the other bag is sealed with plaster (for the volcano). Well, the bag of plaster in the box I received (Note: the kit box and Amazon shipping box were undamaged) appears to have a 1 inch knife-like tear leaking out maybe 5% of the plaster, but everything in this kit box itself and the rest of my Amazon box were lightly coated in white powder. I didn't feel like returning it because 5-10 minutes vacuuming and placing the plaster bag in my own ziplock to reseal as a gift seems to have worked. Just be careful what else you order with this because it's likely going to be coated in a very light coat of plaster. You might not even realize it until you open it up either because it doesn't really seem bad, but there is a light misting of plaster on everything.

Loved this!
This was so much fun to do with my 6 year old! I know the age says 12+ but we did it together and I thought it was great for his age too!

Bad packaging
When we opened the package, the bag had been busted open, and there was powder all over everything. Besides that, it is pretty neat. My son loves the whirlpool part.

My grand is 5 years old and she loves science ...
My grand is 5 years old and she loves science and natural events, so this gift was extremely exciting for her. Haven't been able to use the oven or volcano yet, they take a little more effort and since she's 5 the set up has to be done without her.

Awful
This had to be one of the worst purchases I've made on amazon in over a decade. First, the box leaked powder so much that it actually leaked out of the exterior prime box and all over my car trunk carpet. I should have had a mask on when I opened the actual product box. Take other reviewer pictures of powered residue and multiply it by ten. I couldn't even see what was in the box lol. I would have got a refund and it would have been fine. I wouldn't even have written this review. But I am because of the actual product(s), assuming they weren't covered in powder. This product has got to be one of the most cringeworthy money grabs I've ever seen. Discovery put their brand name on what is effectively a clear plastic cutout in the shape of a half-volcano (looks like the tray that hold Chips Ahoy cookies haha), a small plastic coupler to connect two 2l bottles, a small cardboard sheet that you can fold into the shape of an "oven" box, a few watercolor pods, brush, the aforementioned powders (or mostly empty bags in my case), and then some random items you would find in a super cheap kid's lab kit like a tongue depressor and the thinnest plastic gloves you could possibly find. If the production cost on all of this was more than $2 total, I would be surprised. I normally wouldn't spend time writing this kind of thing for a lousy product, but this one is extra offensive. I'm sure there was a mom or dad out there that spent a little extra money on this gift for their kid that they probably couldn't afford, only to get this pile of garbage money grab, and that makes me sick.
