This Bed rail is perfect. My boyfriend has REM sleep disorder which causes him to dream and act out actions in his sleep such as running , jumping, falling etc and he was falling out of bed in the middle of the night and he would hurt him self. This is a very sturdy rail and it keeps him from falling. .

Needed something to prevent my husband who has dementia from falling off the bed. Problem solved! Also gives him a sturdy handrail to aid getting up and out of bed. Very easy to assemble and install. The safety strap keeps the rail snug in place so that it can't be inadvertently pushed away from the bed. Just long enough so that it doesn't impede getting in and out of bed. Also using a foam wedge to prevent his leg from dropping over the side and hitting the wooden bed frame. Both problems are issues with the elderly and people suffering from dementia. We're both sleeping much better. I'd recommend to anyone with similar issues in a heart beat.

This is a very sturdy rail, and the addition of the strap is very helpful to stabilize it. I was surprised to open the box and find a white rail instead of the silver that is pictured, but we didn’t have any problems with it. It was marginally difficult to assemble, and incredibly unhelpful that one of the assembly instructions is “look at the picture on the box” which didn’t make it any more clear. Put the pictures on the instructions!That said, we didn’t use this for its intended use. My son is in college and the only way for their beds to be arranged in their rooms left his pillows constantly falling on the ground. He needed a headboard that was temporary, attached with no hardware, and was sturdy enough to lean against. This has been perfect for that!

This bed rail was a great purchase! It is great for reminding my mom not to get out of bed by herself and very sturdy to help her balance when she needs to stand up. We have gotten many compliments from the nurses and various therapist that have come to the home. I always tell them where to purchase it as I feel that it is a great value for the quality of the product. Also, my mom's box spring is quite low and this is the only one I saw that will accommodate the height.

I needed a bedrail for my father to support him as he got in and out of bed. Most of what I saw here just had a single rail, and it barely rose above the mattress level. This one has 3 horizontal bars to grab giving him more options depending on his position at the time. It also covers the same amount of the bedside that the rail on his hospital bed covers. I was concerned that when he put his weight on it that it would move, sink a little, and not be stable, but the cross bars sit on the edge of the box spring, which has a hard edge. We didn’t need the strap they include to keep it from sliding out. The weight of the top mattress keeps it in place. The bars are removable so changing sheets isn’t a problem, although you can’t simply unlock both sides and lift up. You have to do one side then the other back and forth. It will depend on how low you have the bars set.

The rail, itself, was a cinch to put together. I haven't figured out the strap - but I'm using the rail without it. There's a little bit of wobble to the rail, but I feel secure enough. After having fallen out of bed, I'm VERY happy with this safety rail. My mattress is 12 1/2" high - many of the rails I looked at were not high enough - this is perfect.

After two falls from bed, both causing injuries to my ribs and head, I decided to not wait for the 3rd. I purchased this bed rail. It is perfect for me, tall enough for my high mattress, slides down making it easy to change the sheets, and is a very sturdy and reliable guard against fall. Not too long, protects from shoulder to hip region. Barely noticeable when in use, not noticeable when the made is made. Only problem is getting into bed, I have to crawl from the front to the back. The safety pins lock in place and the adjusters are not easy to get to from inside the bed. But I'm OK with that because the safety is excellent.
