If you really want to buy a such kind of card, think about the 8 ports version for almost the same price. It pays for in the next 2 years.I looked for a version with hardware RAID incorporated, but didn't find a such one performing at the max speed.Any help appreciated !

To test the SATA Card 8 port, I plugged in various SATA 6.0 drives 3.5 and 2.5, total 7. The motherboard has 6 SATA ports. For this test, I only use the PCI card, MB's SATA ports not used.Booted up no problem, and all drives accessible. Using a very rudimentary test, copying a 645mb file over LAN to each of these disks took 5 to 15 seconds, several in the 6-7 seconds regions. I don't need these disks to be "fast" so long they are accessible.

Bought to add into an old PC to turn it into a file server using a bunch of old discs I had knocking about. Works well on Windows 11 after playing about with the driver disc a little, no instructions are included for what the software/drivers on the disc relate to.So far it's working well with multiple drives linked to it without issue.

Did the job I required it for, moved a degraded RAID 5 from my NAS to my PC so I could transfer all my data to a new HDD.

I used this to upgrade my HP Compaq 8100 Elite SFF to enable SATA III and also let the system recognise my 4 TB Hard drives. This seemed to be limited to 2 TB when using the integrated SATA II controller. All it took was a quick install and a couple of modifications in the BIOS, and my server is now ticking along nicely. Comes with both a large and small form factor backplate and a little screwdriver. I didn't need the small driver disk, as Ubuntu 24.04 recognised it without an issue.

I have the 8 slot card, tested with 1 HDD (that works without the expansion card).- Connected into my server's pcie 3.0 x16 slot, the card is detected but no drives are.- When using the top two slots, the computer cannot find a bootable drive (that is connected directly to the motherboard, not the card ???)- Drivers are loaded, card is detected, but no drives are detected at all, no trace I'm whatsoever.- My ssh connection no longer works when the card is plugged in, I cannot fathom as to where this issue comes from, although it doesn't happen upon reboot with the card removed, and is back with the card inserted.I'm very disappointed with this card, it makes for a good paper weight though.

Have a sata pcie card with jmb386 drivers which definitely don't work on Windows 10/11. Drove me nuts trying.This card with 4 sata connectors (only used 2), works straight away, after installing all the drivers of the CD. Did this just to be sure it was recognised by windows 11.Happy days.

No instruction at all on how to get it working, was told by other customers (not the seller!) on how to get it working as you have to install the drivers first or your computer won't boot. I put the mini disk into the optical drive and it just freezes. No place to download the drivers online or anything, so had to research where to get them. I'm using Windows 11 on a ASUS B650 motherboard and an AMD system. Finally got it working after like 6 hours testing and researching. Had to delete all the drivers then update again as the drivers made my system BSOD. It would probably work alright on an Intel system, these AMD systems don't take kindly to hardware like this apparently. Just be aware.

Installation was a breeze and everything was plug and play. Recognized my 2 additional hard drives (one HDD and one SSD) and my disk drive. I should note that neither of the hard drives connected are boot/OS drives, they're just storage. I had no issues accessing anything on the drives and videos from them played completely normally. Great little expansion card!
