Century Original Wavemaster Freestanding Heavy Punching Bag

For what it is, it's amazing. It's free standing and well built. The foam padding is cheap, however this base is compatible with the bob rubber top. So if you start with this, you can upgrade. The sturdiness is a little iffy. I punch and it slides around. BUT THIS IS NOT A DETERRENT! If you have nowhere to hang a bag in your home, this is a WORTHWHILE compromise. Sure it slides it, just view adjusting it as a secondary workout in your boxing. Overall great purchase.

I have another Century punching bag just like this, but my other one is old, torn and worn out which is the reason I bought this new one. I love Century punching bags. The base is sturdy and you can really throw hard punches and kicks to get a really good feel of your punches and kicks because the material is very durable. My 1st bag, I filled with water which is great. This new one, I filled with sand (just 100 lbs. at $7 per 50 lb. bag at Home Depot) and it's sturdy enough to stay in place. Filling with sand is a pain, but this one is staying indoors in my house gym room, so sand is better if using it indoor on 2nd floor.

I also used to have access to one in my former gym. For $300 the value is pretty darn good.It already comes assembled, so assembly is pretty easy. I think the most difficult thing to assemble is probably adding stuff to the base. Most people would recommend sand, or a sand pea Pebble mix.That's fine if you're doing stuff in your own dojo and you're not planning to move it around. However I live in an apartment complex. Although I don't plan on going anywhere, I do plan on keeping only water in there.So in addition I ordered the bumper ring direct from them. I also ordered a puzzle piece tile mat. Now that I have everything up it doesn't move around with the water. It's very much like One of the big packages from another company.I know the durability of this product very well. It's a very good design, That's meant to last.So.. Why Do I need a wavemaster? Well it's designed for portability. It's designed to be adjustable. If you were doing shadow boxing or fitness boxing, It brings a much better workout value to you than just punching the air. I know It's going to last. So this is a purchase That will be with me for a long time.A true partner that will be with me every step of the way. That I can count on to take every blow.

I used 5 x 50lb "play sand" with a plastic funnel to fill the base. I bought a cheap plastic funnel and cut it off so the opening is almost as wide as the fill-hole in the base. The plastic base is very thick and I don't think it will ever break or leak. It is heavy enough that you will not knock it over when you hit it, though it will probably move when you hit it hard. The red padded part is adjustable up and down, but this means that it is possible to accidentally adjust it when hitting it if you hit it in the right way. Not good. Despite having padding, you will want gloves if you plan to hit this thing hard. So far the thing is holding up just fine despite hitting it hard enough to tear skin and bruise knuckles. I recommend wraps or gloves, I use some old tanktops as wraps.An improvement to this bag would be denser foam. The current foam is light and doesn't protect your hands well from hard hits as you go through to the hard plastic backing.

this a good striking dummy for martial artists and kick boxers. the base is wide and can be filled with water or sand to keep it from flying across the room.It comes shipped in a large octagonal box fully assembled. Kids will have fun tearing apart the cardboard to get to the bag and stand. The striking bag is fully adjustable with a quarter turn and gentle upward pull and can slide completely off the rest of the stand.The lid is wide mouthed... about 2 inches wide to allow easier filling and emptying of he base.Be aware the white cover stains easily and the printed labels will smudge. Overall it comes fully assembled, easy to adjust filling the base is simple. It is a good value for the money.

This works perfectly in my workout area next to my treadmill and weights - I can continue to train to be a champion, you can too! Came assembled the base just needs to be filled, I used water. The shipping was extremely fast and customer service responded to a question I had within 24 hours. Easily a five star product and service.

I have bought this twice. If I move again and have to sell it I will probably buy another one. Excellent product.

I teach kickboxing classes and do one on one and this bag is perfect filled up. It’s heavy enough. It goes too many levels. It’s very sturdy and I have no doubt it will last me a very long time.

This is a good bag for cardio and occasional big hits. It will move if hit with power but generally it stable. I like feel of this bag and adjusts easily. Tried medium light punching hold up well but heavy hitting or say a lunge kick would move it. Overall I'm pleased with this purchase.
