Cable broke after only 8 months. Original part lasted 5 years.Bought a different brand replacment that as lasted 13 months so far.

I bought this aluminum handle thinking it would last longer than the plastic ones I've boought. Wrong! The last plastic handle one I bought lasted about 5 years, while this one lasted just 14 months. wtf. not happy!

The item is a little longer than the original one that had broken but it did not affect the operation of the recliner

My 8 year old sofa recliner handle and cable broke.I wasn't sure which one to buy but the Item description said it would fit most major brands.I had bought my Sofa at Harveys so that probably came under that heading.I measured the handle of my old one and the dimensions were almost identical. 1 or 2mm in a couple of ways didn't affect the fitting.It took me under 15 minutes to remove the old one and fit the new one. This included time to disconnect the recliner from the sofa and turn it upside down.Really simple and very effective.Seems very sturdy and it works like a dream.If your cable does not have a spring attached (mine didn't) don't worry, it works with the spring attached.Good purchase and nicely priced. It would have cost £60 for a sofa engineer plus £20 for the part.Well pleased.

Found the cable to be of good quality and good value for price. Can be a bit tricky to fit but with a bit of patience it fits well. Saved a considerable amount of money by fitting it myself.

Managed to repair sofa successfully. I have previously replaced the handle on my sofa to a similar metal lever. It wouldn't work with the metal threaded cable adjuster here which is fine, as you get a handle. What I will say is the handle itself has to have the cable threaded onto then you use the nuts as locking. This in turn rotates the cable therefore when you do the handle install you have to ensure you have the bottom of the cable detached otherwise you will be torquing the cable up. This design also makes adjustments a bit more hassle.You could remove the metal threaded part by increasing the size here and just use the nuts as a stopper against theetal, then fit a retaining clip in top rectangular hole to hold cable in place.

It is better than calling someone out to do it and if you are having trouble you can watch it on YouTube and follow what they do I found most of it easy but it is better if you have someone to help you with it It took my 30 minutes but I did it on my own but if someone can help you it can probably be done in 15 to 20 it it's worth it you will save a lot of money
