This show is an addiction.
What American among us hasn't fallen in love with this show, blasted through each season and now in deep mourning because we don't have access to it? The BBC is a wicked lady that keeps great shows under her apron as much as possible. I MISS living there for all of the amazing programming, of which we can see many (thank you, PBS) but...i digress! This is a great book. I found not ALL of the wonderful persons/skilled persons that contribute are listed, but that may be a much bigger book. Book 2...? I'd buy it....we all would. Hopefully, they will release new seasons to us whiny Americans. Get the book, it's great.

Almost as good as watching the show
We love hearing the stories behind the Items brought in for repair, and watching the talented crafts people at work. This book will give you insight into how each of these talented people found their gifts and learned their techniques. A very enjoyable read and a nice complement to the TV program.

Heart and warmth, but could be better
This lovely book has all of the heart and warmth that we've come to enjoy in the TV show. I loved learning the origin story of each of the experts. The work that each of them do is truly a calling.Minus one star for two reasons. About half-way through the "after" photos kind of disappear. There are a few nice progress photos, but the finish photo is missing on more than a few of the items. Odd.The second thing that could have forgiven the first problem would have been if each of the stories had a notation identifying the show in which the item appeared. Like "This item was featured in Season X, Episode Y"Thank you Repair Shop, for the work you do.

Not many photographs of the finished pieces
All the repairs that are written about are from seasons that are not available in the United States as yet. It was a major disappointment for me that there are hardly any photographs. To make this worth the purchase price there should have been multiple photographs showing the damage to the item and then the completed work when returned to the owners. I have watched every season that's available on Netflix and I've everything on YouTube; this was a major disappointment. Had I known there were not accompanying photographs I wouldn't have spent $10 on this Kindle edition.

Secrets revealed
Anybody who is hooked on this television program is wondering about the tricks of certain trades. In the episodes, they speak about solvents and adhesive materials, and as for myself, I was dying to know what they are using. Not to mention I wished I had a chance to know Jay, Dom, Steve, Will, the Teddybear Ladies, Suzie, Kirsten, etc. a bit more.Well in this book I have got what I always wished for.I highly recommend this book to all who are not just interested in The Repair Shop but embrace the idea of restoring and mending instead of being one of many in the throwaway society.

The beautiful hardback presentation.
After watching the U.K. Repair Shop programmes many times on T.V., this book is almost like stories written by one's extended family. An excellent foreward from Jay despite his battle with dyslexia 😊

An interesting insight into those who appear on the show
Television being as poor as it is, The repair shop has become almost compulsive viewing. This beautiful book interviews the skilled craftspeople who appear on the show. Each expert has a brief biography and answers a few questions on how and why they came to be doing what they do, and how they became part of the programme. You should probably regard this book as something of a 'Presenters guide' to accompany the show you're watching.Complete with some beautiful photographs and some interesting insights, i thoroughly recommend it.
