AcuRite13019W2 5.4-inch Intelli-Time Alarm Clock

Larger than I thought it would be. Since it's a regular (non fancy) alarm clock I didn't need to read the instructions on how to set the alarm. Plugged it in and it had the correct time. Has a time zone switch, so if you travel, all you have to do is switch the time zone and your set. Also has a switch for DST (on/off). It has a switch to set the brightness of the display. Lo or Hi. Currently I have it set to Hi because the light doesn't bother me as I have the light always on in the next room for another reason. I love the nice big buttons on the top! They have a clicky feel. Setting the alarm is nice because the minutes don't jump ahead aggressively. It's a set pace. The alarm is loud. Which also has a switch to set the volume. Very happy with my purchase. I bought this one because my old alarm clock had a dial to turn the alarm on/off and that made me wary it may break. Plus it had a radio which I never freaking used. Ever. And it was "atomic". And I've never seen an atomic alarm clock be so consistently off in my life. Couldn't deal with being woken up at the wrong time all the time. So I bought this one. Very nice! Pictures show it from all sides. The bottom isn't legible (bad picture on my part) but it's the DST switch, reset pin hole and the Time Zone selector and battery compartment. The top buttons are hard plastic and "click" when pressed. Time and Alarm time buttons do not have to be held down when changing the times. A child could operate it, given they don't play with the switches.

I had one of these for years and loved it. It has Intelli-Time which means all you do it plug it in and the correct time is set automatically. The display is large and easy to read + has two levels of brightness. Some reviewers have said the alarm is not loud enough … they must be sound sleepers or have hearing problems. Like the brightness, there are two levels for the alarm and either should be adequate for the majority of people. I had another Acurite alarm, but you had to press each button to set time or alarm multiple times for the display to change … it had to go! With this alarm, buttons are large, well marked and never have to be pressed but once. This is absolutely the BEST alarm I have ever owned.

I needed a clock for my home theater room to replace the cable box when I ditched cable. I tried an atomic radio signal clock for my living room and found that the reception for the atomic clock signal was unreliable at best. This clock looked to be a much cheaper option and still keeps the time in a battery backup and comes preset with the correct time. For almost 1/5 the price of the other clock, I gave this one a try. So far, so good. I don't know how accurate the quartz crystal is over the long term and I have yet to see if it handles Daylight Savings Time correctly (they keep moving the day around so who knows if it will last anyway; I wish they would just get rid of it altogether), but it seems to be working well for what I need. I only wish it had a dimmer setting for the display as I'd prefer if it was about half that brightness while watching a movie in a dark room (less distracting), but it's OK where it's at and easy to read. I don't use the alarm, etc. given its use as a replacement for a cable box clock, so I can't comment on them. For the relatively low price, it's providing the service I need from it.

After having my first Acurite clock for almost 20 years I replaced it with the exact same clock! Easy to use and see and has an adjustable volume alarm.I’m counting on this one to last as long as is my first one!

Buttons quit working consistently after about 2 months. Getting worse and worse as time goes by. Would have given no stars if had been a choice.

greatest alarm clock ever. nice and bright and can hear it every time. i have had so many alarms over the years and ended up being late to work a couple times because it wasn't loud enough but since i got this alarm clock i haven't had any issues

Easy to program, large numbers, auto time.

its so big! i love that i can adjust the brightness and the loudness of the alarm. the large buttons are a big help and the large clock face helps my husband see what time it is from across the room. the BESTEST thing about this clock is that it was the right time when i plugged it in from the get go! blew my mind! i also like that its a little smart and will keep the time if the power goes out.

This is a very basic alarm clock, which is all I needed. Even for a basic clock, though, it is very disappointing. It has only a "high" and "low" volume adjustment on alarm volume. Also, it has a constant high pitched hum and ticking sound.

Bought it for my 89 year old mom. Her eyesight is pretty bad. She loves this clock. Says she no longer has any problems seeing the time.
