155 Guage Instrument Cable Roll (Black, 50 Foot)

This cable was recommended to me by two different people in Nashville, working musicians, sidemen, guys who have been recorded professionally. They told me you see these cables in any studio, being carried by players, and that they personally had wired up boards or used George L's cables for many years without ever needing to do anything to them.So, I bit the bullet and bought this roll of cable and an assortment of their ends to re-cable my entire pedalboard with cables all of a custom length, and I also made myself several longer cables of varying lengths under 20 feet. Made a couple of spares of everything. Every last one turned out perfect. The cable is durable, the connectors are solid, and the sound is perfect.Make no mistake, doing what I did was expensive, but now I have no concerns with my cabling at all. I will never need to do this again. Buy once, cry once. The pros who turned me on to George L's all agree.

I've been using this wire to make myriad patch cables for nine years and I had very few cables which have ever gone bad. I've also used Evidence Audio Monorail and the George L's cable seems to be a little more reliable...you can reuse the cables for new builds and there's less failure rates, which would cause me to redo the cable ends. Regarding the sonic quality, some folks claim the Evidence Audio Monorail wire sounds better. This may be true but I can't hear the difference. I'm on my second 50 foot spool, so obviously, I'm happy with the product.

Would give zero starts if possible. The whole 50’ of cable is junk and does not work. I first tried making a single 8 foot cable, but could not make it work. I finally used my ohm meter and discovered the hot wire (small center wire) did not work. The outer ground shield wire homed perfectly. I then cut another 8 foot section of wire, and had the same exact problem. Finally I tested the final roll of wire and discovered that it did not work either. I have used George L’s on my pedal board in the past with no problems, but I guess they are not the same quality company they use to be. I would ask for a refund but it has been 6 months since I purchased, and am no longer Abe to do so. I might be able to use some of the cable, but will have to test every piece since this wire is riddled with breaks.

This is the best that I have found. It is easy to assemble, tends to take up less room on the limited space on a peddle board and words well sonically. Buy it! Also, price is better than found on GL's own site.

Pricey but essential kit for my rack. There's a knack to getting a good result, make a sure you use sharp pliers, make a quick clean cut. On the straight plugs push wire in to embed center prong, apply moderate forward force and screw in to moderate tightness, till you can feel it penetrate the outer jacket, too tight and it will crush the center winding. For the angled plugs push wire in to embed center prong, bend wire over the notch to ~60degree angle while maintaining moderate forward pressure, and screw the cap on so it splices into the edge at a 45-60degree angle, then do up cap reasonably tight. Get a cable tester and check each one as you make it. I find if a cable goes faulty it's usually because I didn't get a good initial result.

There was a section of cable that didn’t have the center conductor. Realized it when I was testing.

I found this on my son's wish list, and so I ordered it for his birthday. He builds pedals for his guitars and builds other electronic sound equipment. When he called me to thank me he was rapturous about it and said that he was already using it. He was sure that the quality was excellent for his purposes. Being able to delight my son on his birthday is always a goal of mine. It arrived very quickly and was there for his and his son's birthdays.

This system will make you lose your mind.
