Prismacolor Premier Nupastel Firm Pastel Color Sticks, Adult Coloring, 12 Pack

Hello fellow pastel users, I bought this set primarily for the black. As you know, a dark value in black makes your artwork have depth and a full range of values. I'm happy with it's darkeness. I have used the other colors too. They are not chalky. They do not break easily. I like their sharp edge for detail work. I have had the pastels long enough to complete one very detailed drawing. I think a beginner would like these pastels. I'm no expert, but they do not seem to be a 'student grade'/ less quality than other pastels. The box has foam between each stick, which is nice for keeping them safe and clean. I will probably buy this set again when needed.

I enjoyed my first use of these. I am new to pastels and I wanted to see which hard pastel I liked better, Nupastel or Mungyo gallery semi-hard pastels. I like the range of colors better in the Nupastel 12 set, and they are pretty similar to Mungyo, which seem to be just a bit softer. But since Mungyo's claim a better lightfast rating, I will probably go with the Mungyo when i get a larger set. These Nupastels were easy to lay down on the Canson Mi Teintes pastel paper, and I found I could go lay down at least 4-5 layers of pastel pretty easily. They also seem to blend well, so I would say that these would be very helpful for sketching and other applications of pastel. Except for the lightfastness, they seem pretty similar to the Mungyo gallery semi-hard pastels.

It lays down colors and blends beautifully. But because they're so long, they tend to break very easily. I would still prefer them over many other brands, just for the way they lay down color.

I got these for easy access while traveling. While these sticks can be fragile, and even one was broken upon receiving them, they were still easy & fun to use even when taking them on a plane & across country.

Great pastels. Been drawing for my whole life. Art major in college. Used for drawing class. Always stick with prismacolors. Comes in great packaging, none were broken for me.

This came inside a box with another item. So it was loose in there. Every single pastel was broken. Not in half where I could've just used half. They were cut in several pieces of theThey exchanged my purchase and all pastels were in place. Thank you for your diligence. And they are smooth and work wonderful.

Really enjoy using these pastels for my art work. They have really good pigmentation and are easy to blend

La entrega fue muy rápida y el paquete pareció llegar en buenas condiciones, pero cuando lo abrí uno de los gises estaba fracturado, aún así me pareció insignificante por lo que me decidí calificar con 4 estrellas.
