Metal. Enough said. Not cheap plastic that will break or lose teeth. This holds my hair so well and beautifully that I only needed one, so I gave the other 3 away to friends who always have their hair up in jaw clips (which is a hazard when driving if in an accident with the headrest). The beauty of these things is that you can make them as loose or as tight as you like and the comb lays FLAT against your head. This means you can lay down while wearing it to take a nap, in the dentist chair, getting a massage, or in an airplane and still keep your hair pulled together nicely. LOVE IT!

The metal hair fork clip did not come with directions so I have no idea how to use it. I will have to try to find it on You Tube so that I can use it. There are 4 of them; two sizes and they are metal so they will last. Hopefully I can make it work because it will be a great way to put my hair up when it's hot or when I want an up do for a night out or special occasion.

The edges of these combs have not been adequately smoothed, so they are sharp with small metal protrusions. Using them is like shoving a steak knife into your hair, and you can both hear and feel them catching and ripping at their hair strands.I will be returning them.
