I could not find my favorite vintage mushroom sock darner and after looking high and low with no joy I bought this to use as a backup.I finally did find my vintage model - which remains my favorite- but this is an excellent, well priced, alternative to vintage models. It is sturdy, well made, and just about the same size as my vintage model. When I received this new one I thought it seemed quite small, but when my vintage one was found I realized that it was, in fact, lose to the same size!This is an excellent new darner!

Nothing rough around the wood and varnish surfaces. Comes in two pieces that friction fit well so far. Doesn't have a needle storage in handle like other models out there. Preferred that way. No hollow handle means stronger handle.Works for the basic darning being done, comfortably fits in sock heels. Was a good price compared to many models on site.

Right size, quite frankly if the holes in the socks are bigger than the mushroom top, they might as well be chopped up and used to darn other socks! Good practical item. Comes in neat package separated, so just bung top on it and off you go. Great little item, super speedy delivery
