I bought this book after hearing the author on a radio interview. It scared the pants off me! An EMP hitting this country, either by natural means or terrorist attack will put this country back to the 1800s. The author points out that Congress authorized a committee to study the power grid and make recommendations to upgrade the grid if it is needed. The committee presented their recommendations that the power grid is antiquated and needs upgrading right away to protect it from attack. Congress ignored the report and we are stuck with an unprotected power grid which WILL go down if we get an X flare from the sun, or an attack above the country by a rogue country or group. This book explains everything that will happen and what can be done to prepare for any event. Every Congressperson should read this book, as should every citizen. I bought several of this book for family members as I thought it was that important. Well written and easy to understand. I recommend "A Nation Forsaken" very highly.

Just finished reading this book cover to cover. As a person who has studied EMP - and implemented post-EMP survival strategies for my loved ones - I found this book to be very informative, in particular Chapter 9 dealing with what you can do to be prepared, as well as the printed overview of the EMP Commission Executive Report (2004). Damage that could be caused by an EMP would devastate the United States and set it back a century. A potential EMP could occur naturally through major sunspots or through a terrorist attack. A Nation Forsaken tells how the United States government has basically ignored this threat and is far from prepared to survive one. This should scare every thinking person and generate a groundswell of grassroots support to encourage our government to take this seriously and start hardening our electronics that are vital to our nations defense so they will be able to survive such an event.

I had high hopes for this one, but it's little more than a bureaucratic history of the deep state playing hot potato, everyone dropping the ball but winding up with a fat paycheck and guaranteed future income on this topic. Unfortunately, I was hoping for some insights that didn't make it into the famous emp reports but the author just rehashes their talking points while excusing their failures to boot. I didn't learn anything new from this one at all, it appears to be more of a deep state CYA or funding request than anything. Save your pennies and skip this one, it's a waste of time.

A book that should be read by everyone, to generate a public discussion about securing our power grids, due to the failure of the federal government to act on this since the first legislation was proposed in 2004. An electromagnetic pulse (EMP) from the sun or from a terrorist rocket high above could destroy our power grids for years. They can be secured for only $2 billion, a small fraction of what our government spends yearly.

Very knowledgeable writer with experience. Very scary scenarios, an sobering to think that as I write, dozens of countries have the capacity to return America or any other country back to the 19th century in a heartbeat, with just one nuclear bomb detonated at altitude. The solution costs more money than we have.......so we must trust diplomacy and God to prevent it.

This is a book that everyone should read. Our government is failing the American people and most of the Sheeple are too dumb to notice. This book will help open your eyes to a potential disaster looming ahead. The United States is very vulnerable and is doing nothing to curb the threat while adversary countries have hardened their electrical grid and built up their defenses as well as their offensive emp capabilities.
