Sunnydaze Steel Square Above-/In-Ground Fire Pit Insert - 42-Inch Square Outer (36-Inch Square Inner)

I got this and built a fire pit as a birthday present. It’s sturdy, withstands heat well and looks good.

The screws that are on top of the steel intake should be better painted or something two nights out in the rain and they got rusted

Like it a lot. Easy assembly. One side was kind of bent when it arrived. My husband fixed it within seconds. Will need to keep it oiled due to rain. Thinking about painting it with bbq grill paint so it won’t rust. In the winter we will lift it out and store it in garage

I have to say that this is a very sturdy pit ring. It was a little hard to get the holes to line up to put in the screws and the directions didn't help with that. Besides that, I'm impressed with this product.

I ordered this with the intent to do the masonry work myself. Well, you know how that goes. It was very easy to assemble in prep for the masonry work. Just had a brick layer come out last week and lay molded stone that looks way more expensive than it was from Lowe's. It looks soooo good. Had an oyster roast last night and the fire pit was a big hit My grandkids and their cousins roasted marshmellows , hot dogs and made smores. I couldn't be more happy with the final result.

Assembly instructions and THEIR OWN assembly video show nuts and washers under the lip. This means the liner will sit on the bolts, will not sit flush. Looks like crap.All photos after the product photos of the listing show assembled the other way with nuts and bolts on top of lip with looks equally like trash but that is the only way to get it to sit flush.Would not have purchased if I realize it will not sit flush with lip of fire pit.Too heavy and too much of a bother to disassemble and send back.DO NOT BUY IF WANT IT TO SIT FLUSH ON YOUR PIT.EDIT - Reduced from 2 Stars to 1 Star (would mark as 0 stars if I could)- I used this for ONE fire. All 4 sides bowed in enough that you can see it. More than half of the coating has oxidized / rusted already.I cannot recommend this to anyone. It looks okay out of the box, then you have to flip the screws over so it will sit flush and it doenst look clean, and then after you use if for a FIRE, it fails on the first try.

It looks great. Very easy to install. Very good quality for the price.

Rusted within 4 months. See attached photo. Probably had 5 places that where 1-3” in length that rusted on the top (flat) surface of the fire ring.Nothing that a wire brush and a can on spray paint couldn’t fix, but also a bit contrary to the “long lasting rust resistance” that their product description boasts. I would recommend just adding a coat of “high temp BBQ” spray paint at first install on top of their factory coat. Other than that, very pleased with it. Sturdy and durable. Even with wire brushing and sanding it down to remove the rust, there is still plenty of metal, due to its construction.
