Works Great!
They work great, bought 4 this time. When i install these for drums i always check and make sure they work first and never had a problem with any. 7/8 drill bit and some 6/32 screws, nuts is all you need just don't over drill. Now this is up to how you want to have your internal mic, what i use for all my installations are Audix D6 and D4 mics with 2' XLR Male to Female cables, Male goes to the back of this adaptor and Female to the mic inside the drum. If you have extra wire wrap it around the mic mount. Then just plug in a XLR cable to the outside of the drum and your good. For the mic mount inside the drum i use a gibraltar bass drum mount locked in position (with a 6mm Foam Sheet cut to size). This 6mm foam sheet is cut a little bigger then the mount plate so when the drums are played there is no noise from any rattling. If you buy a box of 6/32 screws for this adaptor then you will have enough for the drum mounts.

Awesome very sturdy and reliable
These things work awesome. I have had mine for about 4 years and used every weekend. No issues just wish they were more readily available.

Great solution for internal microphone mounts.
YES! A simple solution to a problem I've had all these years. I mount my Kick Drum mic inside, and have done all the usual: cutting and soldering a mic cable so one end stays permanently inside the drum via the air hole, running the mic cable around the bearing edge under the head, hole in resonant head. THIS fixes all that. Drill hole in shell, install, smile. I did have difficulty finding the correct sized bit, so the hole I drilled is slightly too large. Screws wouldn't work, so I retrofitted some teeny tiny nuts and bolts. I also put a high quality 1.5' mic cable in there. LOVE IT.

Perfect for the intended use.
I’m a luthier and entertainer. I used one of these mounted through the side of a square neck dobro and connected a short instrument mic inside the instrument. It sounds great, and the connector worked perfectly. I’ve been amplifying acoustic instruments for 40+ years. Always great to find something that helps solve problems.
