Laughter is the best medicine
My greatest surprise by reading this was the amount of hilarity within the pages. I totally adored the book and if this is an indication of what is to be expected then I'm a fan of this author.

An Absurd Tale
I enjoyed this novel. It was amusing but did have enough serious issues to keep it interesting. Basically a tale of 2 people growing comfortable in their own skins.

Review of DARING the Duke
DARING the DUKECHARLIE LANEReview by Author Roy MurryLady Tabitha Hampton and her friends played dare games with each other. Tabitha is to introduce herself to the young Duke of Collingford under a different name. She did it four times, each at a separate event. The duke confronts her at one and so does the tit-for-tat in their Romance.Because of the Duke's family will, several family members must approve of Lady Tabitha's abilities to be their Duchesses. Let the games begin - Under Eighteen Century rules.Funny, but to be considered, Tabitha has red hair. Items like this make for quick and fun reading when knowing our norms today.

Perfection!
This is a very original story of a red-headed, lively lady who will do anything to protect the family she thinks she put in harms way. Tabitha does her best to find a match, but in the process is dared to get introduced to a grumpy Duke by using several different names. Though hilarious at first, it turns quickly into a problem . What was once teasing turns into tests to prove herself. The life the Duke lived before meeting her is spent being told he must be perfect and find the perfect wife. I loved how the author worked both of them to grow and realize their lives could not be as others wished, that the “villain” got his and love found a way. The epilogue is especially adorable and very funny!

Very amusing unusual story
I was very entertained with this story but at like sound 35% it just lagged but then it picked up once again after they married. I loved both the hero and the heroine. She has been introduced to him five times at different events and each time she gave a different name because her friends dared her too. It was a game they played but little did she know he was on to her and he wanted to see her suffer. But he falls in love instead. A very unusual story as the hero is such an alpha hero but is quite honest about his falling for her. At first he wants a perfect Duchess but perfect she is not. But she has a photographic memory so she says I can be perfect and he doesn't believe her. But she is going to memorize the duchess playbook and debrets etc and show him perfection. But he decides to heck with perfection and just ends up loving the heroine as she is. There is a rude uncle and a conniving Grandmother that do not approve and try to separate them but true love ends up prevailing. And honestly she was perfect. She loved him and her friends and there is a bill trying to stop children being chimney sweeps and she stays true to herself. There is humor, sadness and Lots of hijinx and I ended up loving the book. Its safe and free in KU. I have never read this author before but I will definitely read her again. Loved the epilogue so much. It was so funny. I even upped it a star for it.

Quite something
This is a new author for me. I throughly enjoyed her work. She has a great style with lots of details and especially a flare for bringing characters together. There were a few strange nomenclatures and some of the metaphors were put together oddly. Other than that I loved it. Tabitha was a complete riot. Hilarious and intriguing. I loved the duke as well. He had so many twists and turns and wonderful flaws-perfect😉 I will definitely read more by her.

No laughing matter
This book was really light hearted and funny while still being a romance book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. The banter back and forth between the couple was great, and then you throw in a unique grandmother and you have a recipe for possible disaster, or not (you have to read the book). I would like to see how Devon makes out in his quest for romance if there is one?

HE NEEDS HER MEMORY - SHE NEEDS HIS MONEY
Great love story Lady Tabitha the oldest sister of three, had resigned herself to being a spinster due to age, her red hair, her incredible memory, outspoken personality everything a man does not require in a wife (especially a Dutchess).Arthur the new Duke of Collinworth has been told that in order to inherit Rose Hall he must marry and his new wife must be everything a Dutchess should be and three members of the family must authorise it, if not he will loose Rose Hall he cannot let that happen as this was his father's home and he loved it.WELL I WON'T SPOIL IT NEEDLESS TO SAY - ARTHUR AND TABITHA DO MEET AND WHAT A MEETING, I LOVED THESE TWO TABITHA IS EVERYTHING HE CANNOT LOOK AT FOR A WIFE, HE IS EVERYTHING SHE NEEDS BUT NOT WHAT SHE WANTS)BRILLIANT INTO BOOK TWO

A Good Story
I really enjoyed this story. It follows Duke Arthur and Lady Tabitha. They are very different characters. Arthur needs a Duchess to impress his family and gain his inheritance. Tabitha needs a wealthy husband to save her family. They decide to marry but some of his family are against the marriage because they think Tabitha is not a suitable Duchess. The story explores how Tabitha stands up for herself and proves that she does not have to fit the expected Duchess role, she can define her own and still find happiness with Arthur.

A wonderful start to the series
This is a wonderfully written start to what promises to be a magnificent series. There is an air of suspense, and plenty of brilliantly crafted characters, which when combined, make this slightly steamy story a very entertaining read.

Too silly
The first chapter was the only one I enjoyed. After that the story got sillier and the characters more unpredictable.

Excellent Read
Great book and a new author to me. Some laugh out loud moments. Strong characters who together become more confident and the best versions of themselves. Worth reading.
