Good metal box with many colors.
This is a very good value for a filled watercolor box. The metal box is sturdy and is great for sketching. I do not know whether the colors are permanent but they are intense. If you are a professional, I would get an empty one and fill it. These are good for sketching and crafts.

Creamy and vibrant colors! Slight issue with tin.
I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of these watercolors, despite their low price point. The colors are vibrant and creamy without leaving a harsh chalk-like feel to the paper with dry. It appears there is a lack of orange but in its place you get some gorgeous teal blue and teal green colors. The order of the tins are not exactly the order I would prefer, but I can work with it.The tin I have a slight issue with (see photo) where it tilts at an angle and so I cannot use that side of it to mix colors. I tried pushing it down, thinking it needed to snap into place, but nothing happened and I stopped before I bent or broke the hinge. The waterbrush that came with the set can really just be trashed. It practically leaks water without having to squeeze at all. Besides, I have other waterbrushes and professional watercolor brushes and did not need another.

Good tin, ok paints, fits Prima and Jane Davenport half pans better
Just to begin, I'm not an artist but a crafter, and I'm new to the watercolor thing, but I have amassed a lot of different watercolors as I try to learn/practice more (i.e. collect all the pretty watercolors). I honestly bought these for the price and for the palette. I wanted to be able to carry both my Jane Davenport watercolors in one tin.For the price, this is a pretty decent buy, solely for the metal palette. It is a little crooked, if that kind of thing matters to you (it does bother me a little bit, but I guess you get what you pay for). I've attached a picture of the crooked part (with my Jane Davenport paints, which fit perfectly). I also found some scratches on the tin (sad face). The most disapponting thing is the water brush - it isn't really a round brush, so doesn't come to a nice point like other water brushes (like the Pentel Aquash, for example). I also had some bristles shed in the short time I used it.The paint is ok for the especially for the price, and they are great for someone who is just starting out and doesn't want to invest in the professional grade from the get-go. Some are transparent, some are more opaque. The teal and turquoise colors are quite pretty. I've included a picture of the swatch, some mixes and a bit of playing around I did with them (don't make fun~ I'm still learning/practicing). It mixes pretty well, in the little I played with them. The paints dry pretty light. Also a few of the colors dry a completely different color than it was when wet. It re-wets pretty easily, but it does this weird thing where the pigments separate or something. It's not granulation, but something else. I've attached a picture for your reference. Another reviewer compared them to Sakura Koi. I don't agree, as I think the Sakura paints are much higher quality. There is a lot more pigment in the Sakura. I've attached a picture of the swatch and a flower sample, side by side comparison (top is the Aquanaut, bottom is Sakura). Finally, the half pans are a bit bigger than the other half pans I own, so it actually doesn't fit in the palette - there is a pan that pops up (see picture). If I push that down another pops up. My other half pans fit better. I included a picture comparing the half pans included v. a half pan I own (Prima Watercolor Confections).Again, for the price, a good deal. The tin itself was worth the price (a little over $15 when I bought it). The paints are usable, but not that great, in my opinion.

Great quality for the price. I do miniature art and they're perfect!

Great paints comparable to Jane Davenport and Prima at better price point.
The case these paints are in is very well done. I found the paints to be vibrant and easy to use. They are dye based watercolor and will not be light fast but would be an excellent choice for card making or art journals. They do not perform like artist grade pigments but I do not think they were meant to. I put them on the same level as Jane Davenport or Prima watercolors only at a better price point. I enjoy their vibrancy and have fun using them in my art journal and card making.

The item was great for its price (previously
The item was great for its price (previously, I spent the same amount to buy just a metal watercolor tin with empty pans). The colors inside are the more opaque type (almost looks like gouache when you put it on thick), coverage is good, but not as vibrant as artist quality. This is good for any hobbyist, or personal projects. The water brush pen included doesn't have the same leaking problem that some water brushes do, so that's also a plus.
