Craf-t Products Complete Set of Rub On Metallic Embellishment Colors ~All 4 Sets!

Ive used many kinds of metallic waxes. I prefer rubnbuf. But they have a limited range of colors. These sets were perfect as a finishing layer for a fixture I recently refinished. The original finish was a bright silvery tone. Looked dated. Took the thing apart and made a new chandelier with new shades. Id already done a dark brown base coat followed by a grey black metallic acrylic in gunmetal. These waxes added a depth and subtlety to,the finish that is hard to describe. I layered three or four shades to achieve thie look of aged iron. Loved the color Olive a muddy dark greenish brown, Nubian a dark intense brown, Midnight sparkle was shimmery black, and their version of gummetal just evened out the silver sheen I wanted. Ended up using several other colors on the shade holdes and body.These arent base coat paints. They’re subtle accents. But they can be layered and several coats of color will deepen the effect.I could go atmthe pots with a short natural bristle brush and apply where I wanted then clean the brush by stroking it on a rag and I was ready for another color. Really surprised by how much I enjoyed these!

I use these on cardstock crafts. They are thick, and I use my finger to apply But, first, I pick up a little bit of color, rub it onto my glass craft mat, and THEN rub it onto the paper, because otherwise I get too much and not an even color. I prefer a subtle touch of color, more even, than just dipping in then not taking a bit off onto the glass will produce for me. Besides, my rubbing the product onto the glass mat also warms the wax, making it softer. A baby wipe will remove it from your finger, but if you can find a finger cot that fits well, or cut the fingers from a snug nitrile glove to use as a finger cot, clean-up will be much easier. One does need to give a very light spray of fixative on the papercrafted item to keep the color from rubbing off onto another item if they are stacked.

The colors are gorgeous and while they probably work beautifully on card stock, paper, or other porous surfaces, it will not work on metals. I should have read more of the answered questions. Nice product, just not for my projects.

These are not your typical 'paints'. They are waxy and must be rubbed on. I used them for an elementary school air dry clay project, where 3rd graders were to color their dried clay pieces. This was a great value, colors are vibrant and more metallic as they are rubbed and buffed, and they were easy for the kids to use. They should be 'rubbed' on, preferably with fingers. And fingers should be cleaned using a good grease-cutting liquid dish soap!

This is perfect for scrap booking/card making. Excellent for coloring embossed cards. You can use a standard makeup sponge, but I found when applied with fingers it works best, use in a circular motion to apply. Washes off well with a good soap and water. You don't have to be perfect with this product because the blending of the colors has the best effect. Be creative and try different ideas.

Worked beautifully

These are probably OK for what they are. You get a lot of colors for the price. However, they DO NOT DRY as far as I can tell, and you cannot buff them (you end up buffing all the color away.) So, if you are looking for something that will dry, and you can buff to a shine, these are NOT IT. I don't fault the seller, as they never claimed they would dry, or that you could buff them.You want either Guilders Wax Paste, or if you are looking for colors other than Gold & Silver, you want something you have to special order from England called "Pentart Metallic Colored Wax Paste." I now have both. The Pentart product is more expensive (~ $8 USD for a single 20ml container) but they are much more vibrant, they will dry, and can be buffed to a nice metallic sheen.

My latest hobby is polymer clay and rub on metallic waxes make great effects on clay. I wanted to try a bunch of colors but I had already spent about $70 for just 6 colors so I started searching for sets of assorted colors. When I saw this set, I was hesitant to buy because the price was so low for so many colors. I thought either the quality would be bad or the amounts would be tiny. I was really happy when the set arrived and I saw all the beautiful colors. I was even happier when I baked my first clay items using these colors and everything turned out beautifully. A little goes a long way so I expect this set to last quite awhile.
