The name says it all - ARIENS
Almost like the name 'Porsche', A name says it all, Ariens has been around a long time, making quality snow blowers, zero turn mowers, and other fine products. This is considered a residential grade mower, but the way it is built, the sturdyness, and the Kawasaki engine, speaks of close to commercial grade quality. I looked up the Kawasaki engine specs, and the torque is high even at slower speeds. Some jobs might not need you to run the engine speed at maximum, and yet you still get great torque at a lower engine speed. And I like the bright orange color, reminds me of the early MOPAR muscle cars, and their bold colors. Grreat mower at a very competitive price!

The Kawasaki engines used are only good for about four years.
Bought an Ariens IKON in 2020 warranty expires in March; engine had catastrophic failure May 2024. Had it serviced 2 months before was running great but in a moment it just was shot and dead on arrival. It has/had 256 hours. If yours is running now and its 3 years old; sell it NOW. Buy a different one or the same and plan on selling it 3 years from now.

Mechanics to adjust new mower didn't know what they were doing
After mower was delivered two 'mechanics' were sent out to do adjustments, meaning they just tightened some screws then adjusted the driving bars, and they didn't know what they were doing. When you try to cut the grass the handles cross making it nearly impossible to drive. I've been trying to contact the seller and do not get a response. Very disappointing

Great mower for the price.
Plenty of power. Decent on steep hills over 15 degrees, just make sure you go down hill. A little rough riding even with the springs under the seat though. To be fair I have 2 1/2 acres in western Washington and the rough part hasn't been tamed yet. Overall I love this mower and at a decent price.

consider other brands
Great motor (Kawasaki) but poorly adjusted control arms--should not have to adjust out of the box. Also, whatever engineer thought pneuatic front tires was a good idea should be fired. These peel off the rim regularly while turning--just not build to stay on. They take a good half hour and a lot of toolss to reseat and reinflate. Who wants a mower that breaks every second use? Nonstandard size prevents easy solid-tire replacement--plus, why should we be forced to do that? This mower does a great job but it may not be worth the frustrations.

This is not a good brand
Worst decision I ever made buying an Aries zero turn. The mower won’t start unless I boost it off. Brand new battery and spark plugs. Avoid this brand of zero turn

Front tires are absolute garbage
I've had to reseat and re-inflate the front tires 4 times in 1.5 years. Huge hassle. These should not have pneumatic tires on the front. I'm going to be forced to invest another $150-$200 on solid rubber replacements. Contacted Ariens support -- no response.
