Into the darkness
A very good Batman book. Good story, with perfectly complimentary artwork. I love the bigger hardcover format.Batman is watching a prisoners transfer. I don't think it is a spoiler to say thing do not ho as planned. Now every electrical system in Gotham has been knocked out including the lights and all of Batman's gadgets and vehicles. Can even Batman deliver the prisoners across different gang turfs, his rouges and the usual police corruption (this is Gotham). The never giving up will power is is what makes Batman well Batman. He is going to need every bit of it to survive, and more yo make hus delivery. Batman us battered and bruised but still unbroken. The book finishes with a varient cover gallery, the thumbnail panel from the book and character sketches.

The kind of batman tale we don't get enough of any more
I bought this purely becuase I'm a fan of Jocks art.I wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much.A very solid traditional story concept executed excellently with the right level of superheroic twist. All aided by Jocks fantastic art and colours. If you want a stand alone Batman tale with action, suspense, mild intrigue, and also a little heart. This is s great shout.

no story
the art's ok, but the story is not there - the whole book is just one large mediocre action scene. a thug punches batman, batman kicks the thug, repeat 100 times. that's all.
