From great personal attention to truly testing this product
PERSONALLY TESTED: From great personal attention to truly testing this product, it is worth the price for "peace of mind" when hail is around the corner. I have a truck that is too long to fit in my garage. So, I purchased the Hail Protector as I live in Texas and with Spring comes some damaging storms. Timing couldn't have been better. Two days after receiving my cover, it hailed up to baseball size hail in some areas. Saw the warnings using the app provided with the cover. Monitored the storms developing throughout the day. Put the cover on the truck, pushed the button and no more concerns. (except for the rest of the house and property). In the morning, removed the cover, rolled it up and placed it back in the handy bag it came with for the next storm. We all have insurance to repair our vehicles, but we also don't have the time to deal with it. ROI on this cover for me is the time, cost and inconvenience it saves me from having to deal with insurance, car rentals and body shops.IMPORTANT - SIZING! Make sure you get the right size cover. I have a Silverado 2500. Its length is right at 230". Although I bought the SUV3 cover, the right size cover FOR MY TRUCK was the SUV2. Hail Storm Products owner came to my house, swapped out the covers and refunded the difference. That is CUSTOMER SERVICE!

but that's not an easy thing to do
It should work, even though I've never actually tested it in a hailstorm. I have, however put it on four times before a forecast involving hail. Here are five things I you should know about the Hail Protector:1) You've GOT to read the instructions and test it before you need it. Of course, I received it the same day a hailstorm was forecast.2) It works as a car cover: I put it on during a road trip; it kept the rain off the vehicle as well as a car cover.3) Be wary of use during high winds: You do not want to use it if your vehicle is going to catch the wind head-on. I thought I had tucked it under the front and rear of my truck well enough; it caught head-on winds and blew up hard enough to go nearly vertical. One of the straps underneath the vehicle snapped.4) The electrical connections aren't inspiring ... the box isn't waterproof. It's labeled to place it in the trunk, bed or whatever, but that's not an easy thing to do, depending on your configuration.5) The customer service is superb. I had a couple of questions about the Hail Protector and they responded promptly. You can put it on in your driveway and amaze your neighbors. One of my nearby neighbors watched it inflate and he thought it was crazy. Then a car pulled into the driveway next to his with dents in it. Yep. I've not yet seen anything on the market that potentially keeps the hail from banging your vehicle.

Amazing, works just like the videos!
WOW, are we impressed! We have a full-size Tundra. Living in south-east Colorado we get Hail!!!! It took a little time to get it all set up, having the large size it is a lot of material. We sure do get looks and well? Some teasing of our neighbors as well. Well, we will see who is laughing at the spaceship in the driveway when our tundra is perfect after the storm and theirs isn't. Amazing!!!!

Great investment to protect my baby.
Absolutely fantastic cover. Innovative idea that works incredibly effectively. Installation is simple one you have everything set up and have found the best way to get it on your vehicle. Now it takes me about 10 minutes to set up or pull down, and that is with the largest cover they make on a truck that's taller than I am. Aside from a bad cable and DC adapter, everything has worked flawlessly, and those 2 issues were immediately resolved after emailing Customer Support. They have a great product and they stand by it. Once inflated, it is a really heavy duty cushion. It takes a fair amount of force to drive my hand to the body of the vehicle through the cover. I have used it on a half dozen or so occasions, but it hasn't been hailed on yet (although i'm 100% confident it will hold up to the heaviest hail). I usually just throw it on when the forecast looks bad, watch the radar, and turn the blower on if it starts to look bad.Installation:Make sure you pull it on a few times before you need it to develop a technique, all vehicles are different and you may need to add steps to account for it. The inner layer is a really slick material that pulls over the vehicle very easily, Long mast antenna's need to be removed, I fold my mirrors in, and since I have air suspension i lower the truck to create more space between the top of the truck and the top of the cover. I back into my driveway, which allows me to run the blower power cord under the garage door to the control unit (usually set on the garbage/recycle bins), and can plug into an outlet from there.Removal:I've found that it's fastest to open the blower flap to let the air out, otherwise it can take a while to deflate. I load it into the bag front first, and accordion fold it to make it easier to get out and onto the truck, and also allows you to squeeze all the air out the back openings. You have all the time you need to bag it, but you may need to be quick when putting it on: it pays to take the time to store it properly. The included app is a fantastic addition. It sends notifications for a large enough radius and early enough that I can see a storm coming and plan accordingly, and includes relevant data from reliable sources. This is a great product for people that can't park in a garage and live in areas that are prone to hail storms (Minneapolis, MN in my case), and i see this as a very easy investment that would pay for itself in one storm. I'd rather spend $400 on this and not need it than spend thousands on body and paintwork because i didn't have it. If you care about your vehicle and can't park in a garage, this is easily the best option available.I trust them with my truck, and that's not easily earned.
