Did not want it to end!
Where do I begin? I feel as though my review will not do these books any justice but I had to write down my feelings. I have read many Mafia books it's one of my favorite genres. This takes the cake! It blew me away and is not like any Mafia book I have read it's so much more. Like we have a Donna here that is boss of everything and our Hero does not want to change that like he knows the deal. In book 2 we get why it's called King of Ruin but it's all worth it. Ezekiel (Kane) is King the perfect King for his Queen gosh he is top Mafia book boyfriend that I have read thus far like the things that come out his mouth! Uff perfect. Together they are fire like top notch the author just blew be away with them. I already want to reread these they were that good Kane was that good. These books were a first for me from the author and is now an automatic one click author for me especially with the way she writes these bad ass women and these unforgettable men. It left me wanting more! I see Maddy is coming but man oh man Kilo like can we get Kilo and Fiona with what was happening or going to happen with them and of Shi and the twins! Like more please of everyone! Oh and in the acknowledgements where the author mentions Lucian I was screaming like yesss! He only appears in a small part but his character is just that strong where you're curious and want more. Read that whole scene with my eyebrow raised like hmm yes please lol. Anyway I'm rambling now but this story just leaves you like that lol. The characters and this world that was created just sucked me in. I can't wait for what's next within this world and even what this author writes outside of the Wonderland world I'm all in!**P.S. After I wrote my review off I went to start reading everything else this author wrote and I found Lucian! It's the first book of another series this author is working on. Obviously I didn't know this since this duet is my first of Lee's but off I go to devour it!

Great Ending
I absolutely loved Onyx in book one, but book two I went full blown girl crush!Onyx has a way of turning every obstacle into fuel for her power and that is something I deeply admire. The author, Lee Jacquot, does an amazing job of displaying Onyx as human. To allow this character to have a horrendously difficult past and still trauma in her current life but still allowing her to be powerful and understanding, is something that hard to write. However, Lee Jacquot does an amazing job of putting this onto paper. As a reader you can actually feel the emotions of the character, you can feel the tug-of-war between her feelings. Now Z, my husband, was written in a way to show how vulnerable a man can be. From book when we see him go on this quest to save his family. And then in book two it just solidifies what type of man he is. Z is such a strong, “ alpha” male in his day to day life however, I feel that his ability to give control over to Onyx, shows just how strong he truly is.

Highly recommend this duet.
4.5 ★What a way to end this duet and I’m quite sad it’s over *cries.* Although I am very excited for the novella’s we’ll be getting for the supporting characters and I can not wait!I very much enjoyed this duet, from its intricate writing and they way every element flowed perfectly. From flashbacks to present time, i love how we were able to learn more about our hero and understand him better. Everything he’s done for those he loves and how he was willing to sacrifice his dream of freedom for one person. I definitely fell in love with him in this book. As for our heroine, she has never faltered once despite what she’s gone through in the story. She has remained strong and fiercely protective of her family. As for the the supporting characters? You can’t help but fall in love with them and just want more. And I can’t wait for Lee to give us just that.I very much recommend this duet.

Second book made up for the first
I wasn't sold with the first book and ALMOST didn't even start the second. But okay, it was worth it. Spice is there. The blood and gore is there. There were flashbacks to make everything come full circle. It was worth it in the end.

amazing
I liked that I couldn’t figure out where this story was going to go next. Sometimes plots feel overused but this was defiantly unique and beautifully written. There was a balance between the plot for revenge and romance between characters. I can’t say enough how beautifully organized and written this was! I 100% recommend (:

Yes. This was everything.
Oh myyyy, I loved Queen of Madness but this, I LOVED. It had absolutely everything you could need or want ina book. My heart was in my throat, tears spilled down my cheeks and my thighs clenched a time or ten. Onyx and Ezekiel went *through it* and then some.Onyx has v quickly become one of my fave FMCs of all time. Her strength, her loyalty to her family and her cause and her finally accepting herself as a whole human rather than the shell she was strutting around as is beautiful. Again, the relationships between her and her found family is wonderful, I am looking forward to reading more of them.Ezekial Liam Kane. What. A. Man. I don't want to say too much but he is everything and the way he calls her little names in his native tongue is just *chefs kiss*.I devoured this duet and it was the absolute best use of my time.

What a duet 🔥🔥
This duet was SO good! We got more of Ezekiels background this one and I loved it. It was nice to tie together from the first. I hated him but loved him just as much this book, like I understood he was doing what he needed too but my heart hurt for Onyx because she was so bad and they tried to strip that away. Loved how it all came together. I’m SO in love with both Onyx and Ezekiel, it’s so nice to read a book with a woman in charge, both strong characters though! Loved the ending! Really like the family dynamic they had going on! Would love to read more on these two!!!
