Q: How well is this bag insulated? Can i take it to school at 8 am and eat it by 1 pm?

Put all your items in cold with a chill/cold pack. I pack my lunch about 1:30 p.m. I eat between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. and my food is still cold. Anything I did not eat like an orange or pear is still cold when I get home at 12:30 a.m. I also put in my two steel thermos's in as I like to bring my own drinks from home. Chilling all items helps keep everything colder.

Q: Is this real leather on the pulls etc ?

I can't see anything in the description that says the pulls and tags are real leather, but it looks like real leather to me. If it is not, it is a very good fake. I have had the bag for almost two years and use it all the time. I see no wear on the pulls so it certainly wears like real leather.

Q: When partially filled, does it stand up ok or start to collapse?

It stands up very nicely, even all on its own with nothing inside.
