I would say it is close to perfect...for a reproduction
Not being able to find a reproduction holster in natural leather, I decided to go with this one. The brown seems to be just about right. It is not overly dark like other repro’s, which try to mimic a “well used” and oiled M1916 holsters color. Shure I could have gone with a black MIL issue, but I like the look of the brown. The big selling point for me on this purchase next to the color was the fact the stitching was undyed, the grommets and hanger were black and the flap peg looked metal, which it is! Plus the interior was undyed smooth natural leather. The price was nice, but not a contributing factor in my decisionThe leather stiff and unoiled, though slightly thinner than my Cathey Enterprises M1916 (Which is an exact match the black M1916 that they produced for the military. The M1910 wire hanger is steel, the flap stud is nonmagnetic, so I am hoping it is brass, but cant tell. The rivets are copper and the stitching is either poly or cotton. Unlike other reviewers, I have no thread tails to do a melt test. The design is true to the older line of M1916 holsters with four rivets and the body is a little more full. Unlike my 1980’s Cathey which is the newer M1916 holster design with two rivets and a slimmer body. This holster has the traditional cant to it, which makes the pistol grip stick somewhat out to the side. It is NOT “twisted” it is supposed to be that way. The flap closes snug. The spacer in the holster does not rub in all the wrong places (Slide Lock) and my M1911A1 slipped in snug with no fitting needed. These holster were made to fit the M1911 and M1911A1. These pistols had a short beaver tail, fixed low profile military sights, short hammer spur and no light rails. So your pistol might not fit correctly with those attributes, especially if you have adjustable sights or an extended beaver tail. Be advised the rear sight does and will rub on the lower front rivet with this holster, just like all the early originals I have seen. The plug at the bottom of the inside the holster’s body is glued in and is at the perfect depth. The muzzle sits snug and at the proper height. The M1910 hanger is bent to near perfection and has the proper spacing to fit the holes on a web belt. I will note though that the leather around the hanger seems slightly thinner than that found on the holster’s body, but I feel it will hold up just fine. The leather has taken Obenauf’s Leather oil and paste quite well and seems to have just about the right about stiffness to it now.Over all I am very pleased with the quality and workmanship of this item and will trust it with one of my M1911’s. I will admit the stitching is off in a few tight places, but not anything worse than what you might find on a mass produced contract holster.Hope this review helps and answers some of those other questions not found in other reviews.

Excellent reproduction
I had to purchase this holster twice. This is made for the WWII style cloth belt and connects seamlessly into the eyelets of a WWII or Vietnam era belt. Additionally, there is a belt loop that can be used to connect it directly to your pistol belt. Highly recommended.

Fits really well
It fit perfectly with a full size 1911. The leather is thick and stiff like I wanted. It will wear perfectly with the 1911. No flop or extra space when closed. Well worth the $$

Decent Quality
The holster is made from surprisingly good and sturdy leather. With that said it is “twisted” out of shape and required a lot of bending to get it straight. It’s still not perfect. Also the stitching is a bit rough with thread tags sticking out. Overall so far it appears to be pretty good for the price. Time will tell if it holds up to actual use.

Great deal!
Very well made. The holster has leather placed inside to protect the pistol from any metal to metal contact, which was my greatest concern. I have a Springfield 1911 and it fits perfectly. Looks great!

Most excellent!
I'm not going to rewrite everything John L. wrote in his review. Go read it. He covers this holster perfectly. You can't go wrong with this one.

Looked good until I examined it
Second try , I like the heavy gauge leather even though it’s stitching is junk ! Ordered another same crap !! Don’t waste your money your putting a high dollar pistol ( Kimber 1911 ) in junk leather . Chinese crap !! I do leather myself and wanted something nice not for 20 bucks ! Save your money .
