The product works as advertised, and flawlessly. It is thin, ultra-light, and portable yet very sturdy in construction. It is a perfect compliment for on-the-go art projects that require stenciling, tracing,and decaling, and for other purposes such as reviewing X-Rays, observing refractive indexes of gemstones and prisms, and keeping track of small components.The back light is truly variable and operates with but a touch. It comes with a long MicroUSB to USB cable and wall charger, although it can be powered by any 5VDC >500 mA power source, such as Laptop, Cell Phone Battery Bank, Cell Phone Charger, Vehicle USB Charger/Port, and so forth.The luminescence goes from very dim to very, very bright, and has been able to penetrate common paper densities - from simple printer paper to thicker, glossy catalog pages. All in all, a very well made product, and well worth the investment.

I own a 300 dollar light table for professional use, but I was looking for something slim on the go I could use when traveling. First of all, I am a professional artist, and so drawing in dim light and knowing how to use a light table is something I learned well before college, and I have long since graduated. In dim or natural light, this table will make it so that you can see your linework easily, and trace it lightly before inking. It's handy that there are guides (in cm) as well.In artificial light, seeing your linework will be a bit harder, of course, but you can check to see and make sure your drawing is correct like this. This is how I use my 300 dollar light table, and this lightpad is very good even if you are used to a more complicated apparatus. It's as thin as a clipboard, and adding a small clip has made it perfect for this purpose. You can also, of course, use artist tape to hold paper in place if you need to, but I've found a normal office clip works fine. Since it doesn't heat up, I can even turn it to the dimmest setting and use it to make little notes as they come to me in bed. It is not portable, but as it has a USB, I can simply plug it into a portable power source to use it on the go.It is a lovely little thing and does all of the things I was hoping it would do. I hope this helps any artists who, like me, wanted something small to help them with character design or comic art. You can also transfer a sketch onto a final work on something as thick as Bristol, or trace off of cardstock onto paper that won't bleed. If you have a lot of trouble, there's marker paper that is extremely thin and that alcohol markers such as prisma or copic do not bleed through to do your final work if you sketched on a thick drawing.Some other complaints I read: I would not advise trying to trace something printed on a magazine, with 2-sided printing. Simply scan that, run a filter to find outlines, and print it and you should be able to trace it fine.

We needed a boost in our craft business, we are not graphic artists. This handy, slim, lightweight screen is perfect for the jobs we can't do. It is portable, durable-so far, easy to operate, and has already paid for its use. We are also teachers, this is great for the classroom for students but as a teacher it is a great light source, highlights editing, puts an extra grading method out there, and gets me a bit farther up the scale on neatness.

I specifically wanted this product for tracing onto 140 lb 100% cotton watercolor paper and this works with absolutely no problem! I used to use windows, my computer screen, or a glass table but for the price I wish I had bought this a long time ago. It's extremely thin and lightweight and easy to use. It comes with some tracing paper which I haven't needed yet but it's good to know I have it. Would highly recommend anyone needing help getting those outlines just right and tired of looking for other ways.

Forget about the fact that the price of this light bad/board is crazy affordable. What you need to know is that this light box/board is really a very nicely manufactured item, it is simple to operate, and,,,, it has an added feature which allows you to adjust the backlight with precision making it fully capable of allowing you to use a very broad range of paper thicknesses and or materials (colored plastic films, fabric, etc.). The delivery was very prompt, it was well packaged, and safely wrapped. Great job aSmallFish!!!

I was unable to view my negative with this. Too much distortion in the background. I really need to have something to enlarge the negative so I can see who/what the neg is about. If I was a tracer it would be great - lightweight and great for that purpose.

Product is great! Lightweight, bright, can be dimmed, easy to use and setup, it's perfect! The only thing is that you have to keep it plugged in but that isn't much of a problem to me. The included clips are useful and cute. Perfect for tracing! I used it to trace a picture on alcohol marker paper so it's pretty bright.

I actually bought this light pad to help write Christmas cards. I am learning hand lettering and wanted nice straight lines in my cards and matching envelopes. I placed a lined sheet of paper between the light box and card/envelope so I had wonderfully straight lines on which to write. I would only change a couple of things: make the USB cable a little longer and include a wall plug. I would definitely recommend this light box. It works great and at a great price.
