So happy to see this
I had ordered 2 for my husband, as he has used this exact product for over a year without any problem. He had gotten it for a Christmas one year. Once that it had started to wear out I looked it up on Amazon. So happy to see this, I ordered 2 right away. Unfortunately the first one only lasted once. The handles came undone and the terry cloth cover ripped. He then used the second one and after 2 uses that also fell apart. He really has a hard time putting his socks on due to a bad back and I am looking for something else that he can use. I hope this helps. Sincerely Judy Cowgill

does what it's supposed to do!
if anyone in the family needs this, i can recommend it. after doing extensive research on hard shelled vs this soft version (knee surgery), i went with this one. while the hard shell version is more rigid & provides a bigger entrance for the foot, all of the available models i've seen are so wide you can only use very stretchy socks to use it (verry stretchy) - a regular, normal sock (ankle or calf) definitely won't work at all. this soft version doesn't provide as wide an entrance for your foot once you've put the sock on the thing so there's a short learning curve (maybe 2 or 3 uses) in figuring out how to best use it for every individual. even so, well worth it. have only had it for a few weeks so i can't speak to its durability over time but so far, so good. recv'd within 2 days (prime) & seller actually followed up via email to see how things were going & if i had any questions on the product - how nice is that?

Solved my difficulty
.works great. I received a large stiff one from the therapy department for use following hip joint replacement surgery. I am a small woman so my socks were too small to use with it. The flexible one is an easy use for me. No more asking my husband to help with the socks.

Good for Wide Feet
As an OT practicing in home care, I need to carry adaptive devices in my car for patient's to trial.PROS: This sock aid works well for people with bunions, or wider feet that have trouble using the hard plastic type of device, since it is flexible. I like that the terry cloth backing helps to keep the sock in place until the device has been pulled past the user's heel. It's lightweight and durable.CONS: the same terry cloth also makes it tough for some people to pull a sock onto the device, particularly those with arthritic hands. The flexibility also means that it collapses somewhat when tight socks are used, making it more difficult to fit a foot through the opening. It's not a perfect solution, but it works well enough for me to use it for demonstration.

Excellent Design: Happy with Durability
This is an update to my earlier review: this sock aid is the second one I’ve ordered...the first was about four years ago.Things I like: the terry cloth layer that grips the sock as I pull it on; the three-pronged construction that makes it easier to accommodate my wide foot (and can also help me take off the sock): the fabric ties with loops that make it easy to pull on the sock.I was initially not sure about the durability of this aid: on the first one I bought, the terry cloth separated from the plastic and one of the ties started to pull away. However, I found it useful so I decided to try it again. I’m glad I did.I just had knee replacement surgery and had to wear long compression stockings for a couple of weeks. The aid worked just fine to put them on. It requires using some care—you can’t just yank on the ties and expect good results. But if you don’t get in a hurry, the aid works really well.

Good buy for short term or occasional use
This product is adequate for my recovery from hip surgery which is expected to take less than three months. It is purely an unglamorous functional tool to get the sock on the operative foot without bending the leg. The plastic component inside the cover is flexible yet sturdy enough to do the job and would probably long outlast the cover. After one month’s use the terry covering is showing signs of wear. The price is okay for this product and my use. But if I had a disability the required long-term use of a sock puller I would luck for a more durable product at one with a replaceable cover.I am only using out with medium weight athletic socks. I question whether it would damage lighter weight socks or women’s stockings. The product does not come with any instructions. That may sound silly but this was my first time ever using anything but my own hands to get clothes on. I relied extensively on the images on the Amazon product page for this and similar sock pullers. Without those resources I cannot say for sure that I would’ve figured it out. A simple cheat sheet showing 1) how to put the sock on the puller, 2) positioning the foot in the puller with the sock, 3) how to use the straps to maneuver the puller around the heel and up the leg. For those of us who are rocket scientists, simple mechanics can be challenging.

useless for compressinon socks
One size fits all? Every foot is the same size? These are useless for compression socks. Because the product is flexible, a compression sock just squeezes it together and you are left trying to put your foot through a TINY opening.

Octogenarian likes its ease of use
This is the third purchase of this exact sock assist for my husband. He has used them daily for 5-6 years now; but, he has managed to pull off a strap on prior 2 sock assists. When he asked for a new one he wanted the exact same item due to the ease of use at now 87 years of age. These are not overly expensive to replace but strengthening the strap connection by the manufahcturer would be helpful.Seller promptly shipped item so I had to be the assistant for only one pair of socks! I and my fingers appreciated that greatly.

Sock it to theSocks
The product worked exactly as you would expect. It would’ve been helpful if the cables We’re a bit longer it would’ve made it easier to pull the sock on
