Gets the tangles out and adds shine.
I love this product and have used it for years. I use it on my horses and while not only getting knots out of manes and tails, and adding a shine, it also seems to strengthen the hair. I have also used it on my dogs for the same purpose. I also used it to get knots out of American girl dolls and on my granddaughter's hair. Works great and leaves a beautiful shine.

The Old Standard is Still The Best
I have a white horse. A 2000 pounds, 18.5 hands, a dappled grey going-white-with-age Shire gelding, with lovely full feathers, and a full mane and tail. We use this stuff, a lot. A gallon will last about a year, unless it is particularly rainy and muddy that year. And then I have a very large brownish horse who is so happy when he plays in the mud. <sigh>If you have a white horse, you get this. Your mileage may vary, but Showsheen is necessary at our barn. This is a good value for the money, and it does the job.

I love this stuff!
I have Afghan hounds, and used this product years ago. Why I stopped, I don't remember, but started using it again a few months ago. Just reordered the one gallon bottle so I don't run out. My dogs get mats between their front legs, behind their ears, and on their hips. One of my girls has a very heavy, thick coat and ShowSheen really helps cut through the tangles when I brush her. No other product I've ever used has been this effective at untangling mats. It also helps keep their hair (Afghans have hair, not fur) from tangling and matting again so soon after grooming/bathing. You do have to be careful about getting it on surfaces, because it will cause them to become slippery. I keep a small, rubber-backed bathroom throw rug on my grooming table to absorb the ShowSheen so my dogs don't slip. I love this product!

My dog likes it. It smells nice but doesn’t overwhelm and it works. I will buy it again.
I first tried this product in a smaller size. It worked well enough that I just purchased the gallon size. We have a curly haired dog who likes to swim and play fetch in our swimming pool multiple times a day. During this corona virus event her coat has grown quite long. The ShowSheen has enabled me to tackle matts on her legs and behind her ears. I am using it as a leave-in conditioner as well. Her coat looks nice and she enjoys our daily brushing sessions.
