This is the smallest of the motors that Mini Kota sells, but don't be fooled. If you buy a stronger motor you will drain the battery much faster than this one, and will not likely need the higher output anyway.This motor can be used with a 50 Ah Lithium battery weighing only 12 lbs or so, about the same as what the motor weighs. You can get an hour and 10 min on the highest setting, or closer to 2 hours on the middle setting. This is fine for most needs. Double the numbers with a 100 Ah battery.This is the ideal motor for a canoe or kayak. Surprisingly, it will even push my 17 foot Larson bowrider, where I keep most of the time in case my 34 year old engine fails. Nice backup plus nice trolling if I try to catch fish and loose a lot of bait.|Even the prop is sturdy. It will not likely break if you hit rocks, but the shear pin might go. Always carry a spare.Easy to adjust up and down, plus you can adjust the friction for turning so if you let go it stays put. Very nicely designed motor.

This is a well made 12 volt trolling motor. Instead of preset speeds, it allows a variable speed decided on by you.It is not the cheapest motor but there's reasons for it. It has Minn Kotas "maximizer" to allow you to use the motor 3 to 5 times longer on the same amount of electricity.I've owned many of their motors over the past 35 or so years and have never been disappointed.

Haven't used it yet but I have owned this model in the past and it served me well for over 20 years.

Just arrived today, I have a different trolling .otor but will probably switch to this one and keep the other as a back up or for a 2nd fishing kayak

Used on water a country couple of trips and works great?

Propels my 18ft Coleman at Mach Jesus. Lots of torque! I’ve had older models on 14ft flat bottoms and they’ve done just as well. Not super battery efficient but good enough!

Best price anywhere. Will be used on a 10' Jon Boat. Should be fun.

I would have given it five stars if the reverse speeds weren't so weak. Even at its highest reverse setting, it barely moves the boat! And I'm not talking about a large, heavy boat. It's just a stock Gheenoe with one guy in it. The forward speeds do just fine and this is the quietest trolling motor I've ever owned. Maybe the reverse problem has something to do with the prop design? I dunno! Also, I'd be happier if the wire's battery connections were rings instead of U-shaped. One of them slipped off the battery this morning and stopped the motor. Other than these complaints, it seems like a quality motor at a good price.
