Calphalon 2 Piece Contemporary Frying Pan Set, Nonstick, Black

We have tried do many more expensive products. So far, these have outperformed them all. Amazingly easy cleanup, meats cook and brown evenly. We bought the entire set. Excellent!

I have had two previous pans just like this, and have never had this problem. For some reason, this one has some sort of sticker--price? inventory?--on the bottom of the pan, about 1" x 2", exactly where it will sit over a cooktop burner. In addition, a piece of cardboard packing was taped with packing tape to the outside of the pan, leaving two very large very sticky areas on the outside of the pan when the tape was removed. Obviously not going to come off with soap/water and can't cook with the sticky stuff and sticker on the outside. Will need Goo Gone or something similar to try to get it off. So...now will have to go find a product to fix this problem on a brand new pan before I can use it. Cannot imagine why tape needed to be used or why there is a sticker plastered to the bottom of the pan. Adding after using Goo Gone: Goo Gone does not remove the sticky residue. Still there on the outside bottom of the pan. This is a problem.

This pan is the perfect size and everything comes out perfect every time I use it. It also washes so easily when I'm done.

This is the first time I've purposely come back to give a review... but this product is worth it. I have had this pan for over a year and I use it everyday, and I can honestly say it is the best pan I've ever owned. It has gone through hell! I have forgotten I was cooking something and burnt what was in the pan and it clean up perfectly, just like new. The size is great for just about any family meal. I like the two side handles better for serving and cooking when you have multiple pots on stove. I also like the depth of the pot, besides the ability to hold more food, the depth of the pot keeps food from spilling over the sides when your cooking. Just a great pot and would be a lovely wedding gift.

It is a great everyday pan. I do wish it was a bit deeper. I have followed the golden rules of non-stick and I have had no issues cooking with it. Cleaning is a breeze.Golden Rules of Non-Stick- Wash with warm water and soap before using it for the first time to remove any factory wax- Do not go above medium heat- Do not use metal utensils- Preheat the pan for a minute or two before adding food/cooking oil- Do not put it in the dishwasher. Wash the pan gently with warm water and soap. Do not use abrasive scrubbing pads

This is my second one. It is my go-to pan always! Calphalon is always good and I love the non stick surface. Very happy I found the same pan. Would make a great gift too.

UPDATE On 1st April: Have been using the pan daily from 3rd Jan. The pans have been used under medium heat and hand-washed with nylon scrubbers AND no metal spoons used. The smaller pan has lost its space-age 10 year warranty coating. Basically the black coating is lost in patches. Will update pics soon. The larger pan is still good.ORIGINAL review on 3rd Jan : Although I am using the pans for just under 2 weeks, I find them to be very well made pans, which certainly look like they will last for a couple of years.Heats fast-medium heat is sufficient to heat them up. True Non-stick, although I always use oil to fry. And yes, I hand wash them as dishwashers tend to scrap off non stick pans. Good deal at $59 for the set.One last update- calphalon life long warranty requires you to send the damaged pans to their US office-should you want to exercise the warranty. The postage cost to send them alone will come close to the purchase price, so do not buy based on the warranty factor only.

We thought these were great pans at first. Unfortunately within a month the non-stick layer is worn already. This happened within 2 weeks on one pan and a month on the other. We followed the cooking/care instructions to the letter and really babied the pans.The worst part is that the warranty is useless, you have to send the pans to the US on your dime which is roughly the cost of a new set of pans anyway.We will not be supporting this manufacturer in the future, buyer beware.

I'm very happy with these for the price. I've used them every day for many months now without worry. I hand wash only, but there are a few scratches developing on the main surface of the larger pan. This could absolutely be from another member of the household using metal utensils on them without my knowledge (insert red face emoji). They feel great in the hand and have a good weight to them. I find the handles to be very comfortable as well. I couldn't ask for much more!

I love these pans! I was sceptical about buying pans from amazon especially for the price. But I’m actually really happy with these! They’ve got a good weight to them and the nonstick truly is nonstick. I fried an egg without butter first and while the egg didn’t just glide right off it didn’t stick and need to be scrapped off either.I like these so much I’ve started telling everyone in the family to make sure they wash them right away and put a cloth between them when they are store so they don’t scratch up. I hope they last a long time!

I cook daily and, over the years, bought many nonstick pans, even trying those new options like "the rock". Always wash by hand, never in the dishwasher, never overheating, no metal spatulas or utensils. Conclusion: ALL end up with much sticking after a while. The difference is it the duration of the "while". The Calphalon Contemporary can withstand around 2 years of use in my experience, which is much more than what I got from other pans.I'm at my 4 or 5th set and watch for price drops to buy when it needs to be replaced.
