Prevue Pet Products BPV00363 12-3/4-Inch Wire Patio Sundeck Bird Play Pen, Large

I bought this for an elderly African Grey with arthritis. Although she perches during the day, she had taken to sleeping on the cage floor at night, probably not trusting her feet to keep their grip while she sleeps. I installed this shelf just high enough off the ground so she can feel like she’s perching, but she has the security of a big, stable surface. I used cable ties to attach it more firmly, so it doesn’t move as she climbs on and off. She has slept on it from the first night. The bars are very smooth and nice. It has been a good solution for us.

I have a cockatiel named Leo. He lives in and "ON" a rather large cage. The cage is arranged with these wire Patio Decks that give him great spaces to use. One deck is set up as a Dining Area, another is set up as a Play Area, and there are two more outside, one that acts as an actual Patio, and one that acts as a bridge to his smaller Daytime Play Cage. Yes, this is a very spoiled Cockatiel. The wire is perfect for cockatiels and is really easy to move around and clean. He really prefers to stand on the wire than any of his multiple sizes of perches. Leo and I are really thankful for these decks because the provide so much space for enrichment in his life.

Will likely return this item as no argument with it but it simply does not fir my cage as would like. I would have to cover it as many have because the bars are not spaced right and fear be dangerous for the budgies and knowing my birds adding a cover would shake their world.

As long as the wire is covered with some padding, it's a nice perch for my rescue pigeon to sit on. It's easy to install, and sturdy.

I use it in chinchilla cage

We use this for our Amazon parrot and it does a good job. Would not use for anything heavier than an Amazon, as when she steps on to the end it does give a decent amount. We added a zip tie to the bottom to keep it against the bars of the cage and to prevent the hooks from detaching from the cage. Would purchase again, but I wish the "Large" size was a bit sturdier for heavier birds.

I have it hooked on the bars of the cage, but it always sits at a slight angle. That makes it hard to keep the water bowl on it.

I use these platforms, both the large and small, for my handicapped Starlings, and non handicapped birds. I use them to hang things from the walls like a lower roof and I use them as platforms all over the cage to help birds move around their cages more safely than regular perches. I use a covering on some of them that is plastic and made to keep gutters clean. These covers have small holes to allow poop and debris from getting caught, but allow for a more solid surface. I also use these platforms as landing pads on the doors of cages for my flighted birds. I must have over 15 of the platforms all together in various cages. These are wonderful things and can be used in different ways depending on your birds' needs. I highly recommend them.

I have Diamond Doves...who enjoy sitting & walking on flat surfaces....this sundeck was a great way to provide a ledge for doves to enjoy at different heights in their cage:)I wrapped mactac around surface...removing gaps for doves to fall thru...now they love perching on this large ledge..& mactac makes it easy for me to wipe down!

My birds adore this little "balcony" and fight over it. Immune to biting and scratching, just what I needed as a platform for my boys to rest and nap between flights.You can hang it virtually everywhere, I have mine on the curtains cable, will fit outside the cage or even inside if you have a very roomy cage (it's quite large).Will buy more in the future.

My cockatiels are getting old, 21 - 23 years old. The spacing on this product is a bit wide for them but I wove thick paper through the bars and it worked out perfect. It's even better than their older, smaller platforms - more room for them to snuggle up together :) With the paper woven through the bars, it's their new favourite spot for treats.

Aviary birds are loving these it gives them all a chance to sit in front of the panel heaters (which are just outside the aviary wire) if they feel chilly and fancy warming themselves up. Yes the floor wires are spaced for bigger birds but it doesn't seem to bother them.

the hooks on it (where it attaches to the cage) aren't the longest, so I'm not super confident that my rats wouldn't just knock them off somehow, but i just put a ziptie around it and onto the cage to be safe.but they're great for my cage and likely any other wire animal cage!
