another great entry in the series!
I love the Rivers of London series! The graphic novels are great on their own, but they help tremendously with the wait between full novels. The artwork is good and the stories are great. Ben has created a great universe filled with of wonderful characters.

Fairy Tales Turn Deadly
In the newest of the graphic novels taking place in Aaronovitch's "Rivers of London" universe, Beverley Brook's sisters Olympia and Chelsea, goddesses in their own right, are attending a gathering in the woods when they remove an invisibility charm from a mulberry tree growing there. Unfortunately it frees the angry spirit of a Victorian fairy-tale illustrator named Jeter Day. The next thing they know, Day's spirit is invading people and forcing them to re-enact fairy tales. With the aid of Abigail Kamara and her friends the talking foxes, the pair must rectify this error without letting Thomas Nightingale or his apprentice Peter Grant know what happened. This is a fanciful, if lesser effort in the "Rivers" series. The story is a little slight and frankly Olympia and Chelsea are not that compelling as main characters. Abigail also seems drawn a bit older than she is and it throws the story off a little. Still, another peek into Aaronovitch's magical world until the next real book comes out.

An excellent read; able to stand up on its own if you're staring the series here
When a series of fairytale inspired illustrations painted in the late 1800s start coming to life, all hell breaks loose. The longer Olympia and Chelsea look into the different people affected, the more they realize it’s all connected to a certain tree in the forest. Unfortunately for them, that tree is the same one that the pair revealed by breaking the enchantment that once kept it hidden and safely tucked away!We follow Olympia and Chelsea, the twin daughters of Mama Thames, as they accidentally push over the first domino leading to a series of crazy events that slowly mimic the illustrations of an artist from the late 1800s. It was fun to watch these two characters accidentally cause some shenanigans because they weren’t thinking about the possible consequences of their actions. It turns out that revealing a tree hidden by magic, and breaking any possible boundaries that was part of that, took them on a major learning curve. All in all, I really enjoyed the characters, the story, and the artwork. Every once in a while, I accidentally start a series with a random book that is not the series opener. I can tell you that this book stands up very well on its own because I didn’t realize it wasn’t the first in a series until it mentioned that a fan favorite was about to appear. I took a look and discovered it’s actually the tenth installment in the series! I liked the story a lot, so I’m checking out the rest of the series and plan on eventually rereading this installment in context since there’s several books that came before it.

Not enough NIghtingale!
But I look forward to see how Chelsea and Olympia grow from this nasty experience. As well as to anything else Ben Aaronovitch and Co put out, especially if the foxes are on hand as Greek chorus.

I love this series!
Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing me with a complimentary digital ARC for Rivers Of London: Deadly Ever After coming out January 24, 2023. The honest opinions expressed in this review are my own.Drawings from a mysterious fairy tales book created in the late 1800s are having a big effect in the 21st century. The illustrations were painted by a Victorian artist named Jeter Day. One night he disappeared in an enchanted forest when he was spirited away by tree nymphs. Due to magic, stories like Little Red Riding Hood and The Little Mermaid are coming to life in modern times. Olympia and Chelsea are the daughters of the river goddess Mama Thames. They accidentally break the enchantment. Jeter has become twisted by his time spent with the nymphs. He doesn’t like the new century and will do anything to get back. With Peter and Nightingale busy on another case, it’s up to the sisters Olympia and Chelsea with the help of the Foxes to stop Jeter. Will this story end happily ever after? Or will they be stuck in a fairy tale forever?First of all, I love graphic novels! I’ve read several in this series and I think they’re really fun. This one did feel different than the other ones I’ve read in the series, but I still loved it! I love the fairy tales coming to life aspect. The two sisters were funny and I enjoyed their banter. The story was pretty straightforward. I thought the graphics were well done.I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fairy tales and graphic novels!

Great story
Thank you Titan Comics & NetGalley for the advanced electronic review copy of this great book. This is a great twisted fairy tale that is part of the series. I wasn’t aware of that fact before I requested this book, but it didn’t matter. I was easily able to follow the plot, the characters were realistic and it was an overall fun read. Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys twisted fairy tales and would look into the rest of the series.

For completists only
At this point we are just farming out comics for minor characters and Aaronovitch isn't even writing it. In this case it's the twin daughters of the river god. They are vapid and uninteresting as they investigate this case where people's wishes are coming true. I'd say this is for completists only.

Fun graphic novel!
As someone who hasn’t read the Rivers of London series, I was still able to enjoy the story. The brief overview of the characters at the beginning provided useful background information that aided my understanding. This was a fun story with a twist on fairytales coming to life. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys graphic novels and twisted fairytales. I’ll definitely be looking into the rest of the series as well.

Rivers of London Vol. 10: Deadly Ever After
Chelsea and Olympia Brook accidentally reveal a magical liberty tree, which causes its own unique from of havoc. Unable to ask the Folly for assistance, they must try to save the human world between them.A clever side tale, which deftly weaves magic and fairy tales together. Well drawn and we'll laid out, this graphic collection is an enjoyable read from Aaronovitch and Cartmel.

graphics are brilliant
only recently come to graphic novels. I do prefer the audible versions but these fill in the gaps, and also give me a better "image" of the characters - the characters seems to match the descriptions from audible really well.

Graphic novella
Accidently purchased this thinking it was Book 9 of the Rivers of London main series. Description could have been better so it was returned and the correct novel purchased.
