I loved this book
I loved this book !,, I don't know about you but sometimes before buying I look at the reviews. This book was very mixed some likes dislikes and some loved it . I loved it. Yes it does jump around from person to person but when you get involved in the story you get used to it. The characters came to life for me and I hardly put it down. Because I'm nosey and really wanted to know how it all worked out. I won't be spoiler alert but I think Cathy kelly again has written a fantastic book.

Sisterly Love
Always a great favourite of mine, I have for over 12 years always eagerly awaited each new book by Cathy Kelly and Between Sisters certainly does not disappoint. Although the beginning I felt was a little hard to get into, it soon became such that I could not put it down. The main characters Coco and Cassie are two sisters who have been damaged but their mother leaving them when they were very small. They are as different as chalk and cheese , Cassie vying for her husbands time against her conniving mother-in-law and the beautiful Coco running her vintage clothing shop and continually thinking of her great love ,also out of her life.. Lovely characters in this book you can almost see them. I cannot imagine many readers not liking this latest offering from Cathy Kelly , and like myself ,becoming entwined in the woman of Delaney Square. A very good read.

Too complicated
I usually love the books by this well know Irish author, but this one unfortunately came up short. I have always been a fan of Cathy’s books, her great understanding of family dynamics, the dramas that come with friendships and relationships, changes that occur in people’s lives.Between Sisters is essentially a story of two abandoned sisters Coco and Cassie. Their mother was there one day and vanished the next, nobody talked about her, just that she is never coming back. However, there are always two sides to every story and the girls’ lives turn out to be affected more by their past than anyone could have ever predicted. They both have abandonment issues, which nearly destroy their relationships with the loves of their lives. So far so good. However, then we have grandmother Pearl, who is suggested to be holding on to this massive secret about their mother, which makes you think she’s done something terrible. We have Phoebe, a country girl, studying fashion. We have Antoinette, the mother in law from hell. We have best friend Jo and her daughter Fiona. We have Shay, Red, Lilly, Beth, Eddie, Gloria, Elsa, the whole village and their dogs.Just too much in this one. What could have been a great read became a hard labour of getting through and skipping paragraphs, because it just wasn’t that interesting. Which is a shame as the basis of the novel is good. So give it a go, but I feel Cathy’s other books were just a bit better and clearer.

If you are a fan of books by Cathy Kelly, you should check out "Between Sisters."
Even though this is not my usual reading interests; however, I happen to pick up this book (Between Sisters: A Novel by Cathy Kelly) on Amazon for a bargain price and decided to read it even though it is clearly a novel women will relate to more so than men. This story follows the lives of women living in Delany Gardens, a village on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland. This is a book about family and love and their experiences that bind them together. I found this to be an interesting read.Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Haiku Moments: How to read, write and enjoy Haiku).

Wow
The review looked interesting so I went ahead and got it for my kindle. Took it with me to read while I did laundry. It's 11:40pm and I just finished it. The stories within stories about families and how they can intertwine in unexpected and surprising ways. For better and worse the way they should. Thank you for such a good read

Loved it
I found the beginning of the book a bit slow and had a bit of trouble keeping the characters straight until I had read several chapters, but as I continued to read things started making better sense. This was a perfect book to read as I am laid up after surgery.

Great read.
I’m not always a fan of books that go from character story to character story, but this one is exceptionally well put together. And I do love a happy ending. I would have loved to have read what happens next, but I can imagine.
