Boye Resin Crochet Hook with Ergonomic Handle, 4.25 mm, Silver Glitter

I do not like this crochet hook. Real hard to work with especially with coton material ...it does not slip well.

Hook is a standard Boye hook and lightweight. The glitter in resin makes it sparkle. The hook is a little shorter in length than other hooks I have and still very usable. It'll be use it in future projects requiring this size hook.

I wish I could give this 0 stars. I bought this for doing Amigurumi, asa a replacement for the plastic hook that came in my first Amigurumi kit. That plastic throw away hook is of better quality than this piece of junk. This hook does not glide through stitches easily. It generates a lot of friction and requires a lot of force to pull through, even at loose tensions. It also splits the yarn constantly. I have never used a hook that splits yarn as readily as this hook does. Not even halfway through the first project using this hook, and acrylic yarn, the hook snapped 1 1/4 inches from the tip. I definitely wasted money on this hook and would recommend that people not buy this junk.

This is the first resin hook I have bought. It does not glide like I had hoped but that might vary with the yarn. Wasn’t as comfortable to hold as I expected an ergonomic hook to be. But the biggest disappointment was a rough spot right on the top of the head of the hook. Constantly caught on the yarn. I tried filing it down but it still catches. Pour design if the seam in the mold is in such an important spot.

I have found that this hook tends to stick to acrylic yarn. It is not as smooth as crocheting with a metal hook while the hook is very cute and is the appropriate size. I never find myself reaching for it. This hook is however, more durable than other crochet hooks that are made of resin.
