A great first couche
As an intermediate baker this is an excellent new tool in my arsenal. I make baguettes several times a month and I've been using a thin kitchen towel in lieu of a couche and there is a huge difference in the quality. The couche is sturdy and holds its shape well. It kept the surface of the dough dry and none of the baguettes stuck. It helped maintain the integrity of my ciabatta too. Definitely worth the money.

Quite Thin, Rather Flimsy, and Sadly Disappointing
Sticking to my policy of trying to begin a review with something positive, I can say these two things. First, the color of the couche is accurately shown in the product information pictures. Second, there’s basic stitching on all 4 edges to help reduce the tendency of the cloth to fray. Now to move on to more important matters. A baker’s couche is supposed to be thick – almost canvas-like in weight – in order to provide support for dough to maintain shape during proofing. This one is quite lightweight – tipping the scale at just over 2 ½ ounces – making it more like a “couche wannabe” than a truly functional couche. While it will provide a bit of support, the fabric is too thin and flimsy to do the real work of keeping the dough shaped and in its place. The 30” by 18” size is too small to be truly useful. If it were stiff enough, it would be able to hold 3 demi-baguettes during proofing. For multiple full-size baguettes, the larger size would be needed. But as I’ve already pointed out, the material used for the couch is too thin, so I’d suggest checking with other sellers.BOTTOM LINE: The Flagood couche lacks the thick, sturdiness that’s required to be truly effective in shaping dough during proofing.

Great product and does exactly was it is intended.
Purchased this to prepare my Puerto Rican “Pan Sobao” it works great and can easily fit four loafs at a time. As my very small business grows will definitely buy more.
