Nice condiment, like a spiced ketchup
This Yamasa Artisanal Katsu Sauce is rich and tasty. I hadn't read the ingredients ahead of ordering, but I looked upon tasting. It's basically spiced ketchup. It has cinnamon, coriander, cloves, allspice, as well as tamari and tomato paste. Also, of course, sugar, OJ, and more. It's not something that I had tried prior to ordering (other than at Japanese restaurants, on a few items years ago).I think it's perfect for sweet potato fries! I really appreciate that it's plant-based and gluten-free! I love traveling the world through food! Highly recommend!!

vegetarian, sweet and fruity flavor
The flavor of this Yamasa Katsu Sauce is primarily sweet with some fruity apple cider-like notes. I like that it's vegetarian. Katsu sauce is a Japanese Worcestershire-type sauce but they are usually vegetarian, unlike Worcestershire sauce which usually contains anchovy.Katsu sauce is the traditional Japanese accompaniment for tonkatsu (aka Japanese pork cutlet). It's good on meat, but also works used on other proteins like tempeh. It seems to be made in the USA? There is no indication that it's made in Japan.

Touch more tart than Bulldog
Bulldog is our hands down favorite Katsu sauce. It's what we measure all other katsu sauces against. This sauce tastes good but is a tad more tart. Not in a bad way just different. I personally liked the slightly more tart from this katsu flavor as it helps cut the grease from the fried katsu we serve it with. My son who is a huge fan of katsu and has to have katsu sauce on pretty much everything thought this sauce was great.Review For:Yamasa, Artisanal Katsu Sauce, Non-GMO, 8fl oz

Oh yea!
If you’re not familiar with this sauce, it would not be out of bounds to describe it as a Japanese take on Worcestershire. To me, that means that they’ve taken something good and made it better yet. This sauce has tangy, fruity dominant notes that are more complex, and longer lingering than Worcestershire, yet the flavor profile is lighter and subtler overall. Really delightful with meat, but a joy as a condiment in a homemade bowl of ramen.

Rich sweet and tart sauce for dipping
This Yamasa artisanal match sauce is very thick and tastes very good as a dipping sauce, it pairs well with pork and fries. It's not too spicy and doesn't have heat, it's a sweet and tart sauce, I taste a hint of cinnamon and ginger in it. It does have a lot of sugar at four grams in a tablespoon.
