John Deere Ignition Module - AM132500

This was not that hard to install. After disconnecting the positive battery terminal, I simply removed the big nut holding the key unit in the dash, and the three small hex head slotted screws holding on the board. Disconnect the three connectors, and it is out. Took about ten minutes to remove.Installation is reverse. I put on the connectors after I mounted the board, to make sure I had room to insert my tool to tighten the three screws. I used a small drill with a hex driver and short extension. Be careful on how much you tighten them, doing final tightening by hand. Overall, took my about thirty minutes to install and have the tractor running.You will find that it is a bit tight getting the key ignition unit in the hole from the inside, due to the awkward angle, but have a little patience, it goes in. Be careful when tightening the big nut on the front, it is plastic! Your original key will fit this unit, they all used the same key.This cured a multitude of problems I was having with my 2002 John Deere GT235. Not charging, not staying running. The whole problem is the key ignition part fails inside, (contacts wear out). It is a shame you have to buy the whole unit, and not just the ignition key unit, but it installs easily and made my tractor run better than ever. Another year out of my now 17 year old lawn tractor!By the way, this unit, including shipping was twenty-five dollars cheaper than my local Deere dealer wanted including sales tax, and is original Deere parts, which comes in the genuine John Deere box. NOT A KNOCKOFF. Same as my local dealer wanted to sell me, just less money. Twenty-five dollars is a lot...Thanks, Amazon and Hartville!

not only did it resolve the starting problem, it cured the battery light from just staying on, also stopped the starter from staying engaged sometimes. Perfect fit.

Perfect fit. It corrected my problem of the PTO clutch kicking out after running for 10 minutes.

Easy install - one power wire two cable bundles and removing the old ignition key. Fired right up!

Company sent me another one because this one was having problem. The new one would not work at all. I reinstalledthe original one and got it to working properly. I'M O K
