I never write reviews, but this product was so incredible I felt that I needed to. So the instructions are a bit vague on how much powder to use to how much water. I used 1/2 cup powder to 3/4 cup water. It was a bit too runny and unmanageable, so in the future I will likely just do a 1:1 ratio of powder to water to create more of a paste. I also ordered an applicator bottle, which will likely make it simpler to control next time. What I am amazed by are the results. I have very curly 4A hair. I applied the shikaikai mixture and all tangles MELTED from my hair. I had almost ZERO shed. I didn't use any other shampoo or conditioner. I rinsed my hair, added a leave in conditioner and gel and sealed with an oil. BAM! Hair totally moisturized! SHINY! Oh, I did steam my hair while the shikaikai was setting just to make sure that the nutrients were really infusing into my strands. This is my new go-to shampoo and conditioner. No need for anything else.

Bought this product to use as a nourishing hair cleanser. Mixed the powder with hot water and with plenty of stirring, this powder never fully dissolved. After a thorough rinsing, I still could not get all the powder out, it was like trying to rinse out sand. On a bright note my hair was noticeably shinier and softer, but next time I look for a finer powder.

I use shikakai powder for about 3 years now. Unfortunately this particular one did not exceed expectations. The product is very ...I’d say “sandy”. When it’s mixed with water it is NOT smooth like supposed to be. It’s not powdery like flour, not grinded to that point. Plus it has foul smell , very different then other products what I bought before. I use shikakai instead shampoo but without that smoothness i am afraid it can bring more damage. It’s like rubbing sand in hair . I wouldn’t recommend this particular brand. 😔🤷‍♀️

I used this shikakai powder as a hair wash, and felt the product was waste of money.

I have used shikakai and amla powder in the past from a different company with excellent results.This particular brand was a surprise as everytime I used it I got an allergic reaction to it and developed respiratory wheeze needing inhalers. I am not known to have asthma.I have persisted in using it for nearly 4-5 times but have now stooped it as I cannot bear to suffer with wheeze every time i use this.Its going to go into the litter bin unfortunately.I shall go back to my original brand of the product.
