Great story about second chances too bad his parents were insufferable. But I’m glad that her family would fill the gap with love and acceptance

This was a cute read. Not what I expected at all. The tension between Lex and Hudson because of his parents and their “standards” for him are dangerously accurate. It took me longer to finish but overall, Goodreads!

I really liked the first half of the story. I like Alexa (Lex) and Hudson and their 2nd chance romance. His brother Tristan added a bit. Her family was more engaging than his parents (the villains of the piece). The story felt nearly complete at the halfway point. Unfortunately the story kept going. Less and less happened with more and more repetition. Her friends became a bit tiresome as it went on, since they added to the repetition (Ellie witnessed something, then Hope saw the same type of thing.) I skimmed for a while, but I didn't see any things worth slowing down for.

This is a wonderful story about two people forced to separate by circumstances who get a chance to start over. Hudson tries to fulfill his parents expectation of running the family business in New York while Lexie pursues her dream at home. When they are thrown together due to their best friends wedding Hudson hopes for a reconciliation but Lexies hurt runs deep and his family situation hasn't changed. Hudson is a sweetheart walking a fine Y between pursuing Alexis and not pushing too hard. Alexis still loves him but doesn't want to go through another break up.It irritates me when friends get too pushy . But her friends had her best interests at heart even though they were a little sneaky they were loyal and had her back. Love the small town vibe loyal friends and a happy ending.

Written in alternating first-person viewpoints, this is a story of a strong woman, Alexa “Lex,” who knows her own worth and her place in the world. She comes from a loving, supportive Latino family. Her former boyfriend, Hudson, was enfolded into her family when they were younger, but he followed his parents into a career in real estate with a focus on high-end clients. His parents despise Lex and her humble roots and do everything they can to break-up Hudson and Lex. Distance eventually estranges them until they are best man and maid of honor for their close friends upcoming wedding. I enjoyed this story because of the characters! It s a clean romance in that the love-making stops at kissing but there is social drinking and the very occasional mild cuss word.

Loved loved loved this debut book from Abi!! While we all love our romance books, sometimes we need a clean feel good love story. This is one of them! For me this was a quick read but I didn't want to rush through it so I took my time with it. I loved how the characters all meshed well. While yes had some moments that made me roll my eyes (but like what humans don't), it wasn’t the kind that made me annoyed (let’s be real… we all have those characters that just annoy us lol). One extra thing I did appreciate was that a glossary ws included for the benefit of those that did not grow up in a Latin community.I personally recommend and suggest sharing this with your favorite bookworm, from teens to.. to... not so teens!!Definitely will re-read before the year is over.

Both Lex and Hudson are likable characters.Lex and Hudson chose different ways to live their lives. But I just felt the writer made it appear like it was more Hudson fault. I felt Lex was rigid and expected Hudson to make the bigger sacrifice.

I loved how Lex's family was so warm and welcoming to Hudson and encouraged his reunion with their daughter. There were several sweet and tender moments between Lex and Hudson, and we got lots of scenes with them enjoying their second chance at love. Unfortunately this book really dragged for me, and the dialogue and inner thoughts of the characters was very repetitive. I found myself having to take breaks to grab another book before coming back to finish this one. I thought the premise of the book sounded cute, but the party planning was such a minor part of the storyline. If you're a fan of Hallmark movies, then you will enjoy the feel good vibes and sweet moments between Hudson and Lex. Sadly this just wasn't the right book for me.

5⭐This is one of those books that make me love love. Second chance romances are actually top tier. Lex and Hudson broke up at 21 due to unfortunate reasons but they're now having to work together 4 years later to plan their best friends bachelor and bachelorette parties.I absolutely loved this. It initially gave off one sided enemies to lovers but it wasn't a slow burn so they reconciled their differences in good time. The way Hudson loves Lex, ugh I want nothing less. He would move the moon for her. His attentiveness and confidence was everything. This made me feel all gooey inside.He's rich, she's not. He works for the family business. She has her own ballet company in their local town. You can see where this is going.A super sweet, gooey romance.Content: kissing only.

I love this authors books.I loved this book from start to finish.I love the characters and the story.
