MetaChurch: How to Use Digital Ministry to Reach People and Make Disciples

The Book We All Needed
Up until now, there was no book I could hand someone that gave them a roadmap towards untangling digital ministry. Even if there was a roadmap in 2019, the entire thing changed in March of 2020.I believe that Dave has released that roadmap.I truly believe that this book is important. It needed to be written. Often, such a book will be written by someone with little experience looking to capitalize on a market inefficiency. That is not the case here. Dave is bringing years of experience in online ministry in a variety of contexts to the table and giving it all away.it was a joy to read this book and I will come back to this again and again as we develop this ministry in our church.

A theological sound argument and methodical roadmap for digital ministry.
Thanks, @dave Adamson for equipping leaders for digital ministry!! Appreciate you, bro! 👊🏼In Dave Adamson’s book, “Meta Church - How to use digital ministry to reach people and make disciples,” he discusses how our mission to make disciples of Jesus can look with a 21st-century approach. He provides a theologically sound argument and a methodical roadmap for digital ministry. 🔥🔥If our goal is to make disciples… (Matthew 28) Then meeting together on just Sunday won’t cut it. We must leverage technology and learn to integrate it into our discipleship model.Technology will never replace meeting in person, but it can deepen our relationships, strengthen our communities, and reinforce spiritual formation.

The most important leadership book you'll read this year!
Dave Adamson has written a guidebook for the future of ministry! And what is most important is that Dave shares practical tips but also helps you learn how to think more deeply and more faithfully about ministry for a post-pandemic world. But it isn't just about post-pandemic, is it? Ministry in the world today has to be fully digital and fully physical/embodied dual reality. Metachurch is a must read and must share resource for anyone who cares about the future of the church! Read this book if you care about the future of the church. Skipping this treasure trove of insight is the biggest mistake you can avoid in 2022!

Most Practical Book I Have Read
A must read for anyone in the church trying to figure out digital / social media, especially YouTube and repurposing your sermons.

Worth an Immediate Add to Cart
The world needs this book. I've read it, and I can tell you it's the best picture of where digital ministry is going and the impact it can have on the Church as a whole. My favorite part is how practical he gets. It's a playbook of best practices, talking points for hesitant leadership, and a whole host of content ideas to create new content and also repurpose content you're already making as a church each week.If you are a ministry leader, I promise this is worth an immediate add to cart!

Book is bent up and edges torn
I purchased this through Kindle when it came out. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased the physical book to add to my bookcase. I was so disappointed to open the package and the book is bent and torn.

important and practical book
As a Church Communications Director, that book gave me tools to talk to other staff and leaders about the importance of online, and also super practical scripts and graphics that I implemented immediately. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to grow their church, ministry, reach.

A Phenomenally Helpful Book
I’ve followed Dave Adamson for years, since hearing him on Carey Nieuwhof’s leadership podcast. In that time I’ve found him immensely helpful in shaping my understanding of social media and digital ministry. Naturally, I was excited when I saw he was writing this book.I’ve sped through this book in a matter of days, partly because I’ve been on holiday so I had time, but also because it’s just so compelling that I wanted to keep reading. Dave unpacks some ideas he’s spoken and written about a lot over the years, but in greater depth. He also brings fresh thoughts and ideas. All of it is helpful and thought provoking.Having sped through this book, I’m going to go home and reflect carefully on what I’ve read, dip back into it, examine the various diagrams and consider what changes I can make in the church I help lead to enable us to more effectively make disciples of Jesus through our digital platforms as well as our in-person gatherings. Dave has given language and terms for things which I have been wondering about particularly throughout the pandemic, and I’m immensely grateful to him for writing this book.

An insightful and forward thinking book
This is an excellent book, full of thoughtful insights and wisdom. Dave manages to present a powerful case for the use of social media, YouTube and the like for any church community that wishes to take seriously Jesus' command to go and make disciples of all nations. What a time to be alive! Believers can genuinely take the Gospel to the 'ends of the Earth' in the blink of an eye and Dave not only builds up your faith to do this but gives you the practical tools to do so. He writes with a warm familiar style and in doing so makes this an easy read. I wholeheartedly recommend MetaChurch to you. Whether you are an ardent 'church can be online' advocate or a die-hard 'we MUST gather in person' ... er ... person, I think both sides of the spectrum and all in between will learn something from what Dave has to share.

Asking the Right Questions
Reading MetaChurch by Dave Adamson was a refreshing dive into the world of digital ministry. Rather than just provide information Dave asks questions. The book is divided into three parts: the philosophical argument, the practical application and ends with planning ahead. Each section provides the reader with personal stories, questions needing to be asked and practical helps to get started. The fact he wants his kids to inherit a church that is better positioned to deal with the future speaks volumes. The only downside to the book is the author speaks from a mega church perspective. However, most everything in the book can be adapted to different models of church. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in digital ministry.I was part of the launch team and received an advance copy of the book. Everything stated in my review is solely my opinion.“There’s a cost to rethinking, much less re-digging new wells or models of church, that we’ve invested so much in over a long time. Every church leader has a model or approach or way of doing church. Changing our model requires us working through issues of theology, rethinking definitions of community, reimagining our idea of discipleship and ministry, and rewriting our long-held liturgies.” ~ Dave Adamson

The book bringing churches into the 2020s.
Dave has a vision for the future of the Church, one that leverages the strength of community - which the church is great at - coupled with the opportunities of digital media. The Church has always used the tech of the day to help lead people to know Jesus, and Metachurch provides great insights and tips on using technology of the 2020s for Kingdom purposes.
