Q: My house is not too fancy. I have a china cabinet with glass shelves and doors. Could I hang my wine glasses on this rack and place it in the cabinet without the glasses breaking from the movement?

I suppose you could if the shelving spacing allows. I was disappointed in this after it was opened at Christmas last year. It fell apart and I haven't been able to repair it with the welding equipment we have at the office. So it just sits in my kitchen next to my wine rack, languishing until my husband takes care of it. I have "everyday" wine glasses hanging from a wine glass rack over my wine racks. I purchased this to hang my great-grandmother's stem ware or my Waterford pieces. :(

I would say no. The legs fold very easily. It's great for the kitchen counter but I don't think it would hold up well with the motion of a boat.

Q: Can you really get 16 glasses on this? I have large wine glasses and other assortments

If your wine glasses are oversized, I would imagine it would be hard to safely stack 16. I have only used one holder per glass. It works fabulous, and glasses dry spot free. I do recommend it highly!

Q: Several reviews complain the opening for the decanter is too small - what are the dimensions of this opening?

The opening is about 3 inches wide. I have a few decanters and they all fit. I'm afraid people may be using it incorrectly. The decanter slides in like the glasses. Some decanters seem to sit precariously ( sometimes on a slant) but they dry nicely.
