Cindy Crawford's Basic Face

As one of the most famous and successful supermodels in history, Cindy Crawford knows about makeup and this book is a great guide. I like the fact that this book teaches the fundamentals and not the over-done contouring and dramatic makeup that can look clownish. Plus, this book includes many pictures of the flawless, gorgeous author, Cindy. I bought this book when I was in cosmetology school because of the practical information it offers but also because I'm a huge fan of Cindy's and have always appreciated her intelligence, beauty and kindness.

My cousin bought this book for me as a young adult when it first came out, and when my daughter started coming out of her room looking like an Oompa Loompa, I knew I had to get her a copy. Youtube tutorials are fun and all, but those girls have their faces far too overdone for everyday make-up, and of course being a teenage girl, mom knows nothing. Cindy Crawford's Basic Face is just that -- the basics. My daughter re-learned how to do her makeup so that she looks like a normal human being, and she's done now in 5 minutes rather than an hour.

The eye shape chart for eye shadow is literally the best explanation of shadow placement I’ve found.

I love this book! I think because Cindy Crawford has so much experience with the world of beauty that she cuts through all the bull, and gets to basic stuff if you want to wear make-up but do not want to look like a floozy. Plus, she gives great tips on buying makeup, using makeup, etc. She gives unvarnished but very helpful advice. It is the best book I have seen on beauty tips. Plus the pictures and silver cover are cool too. I am surprised it is not on shelves anymore. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't know what they are doing when it comes to makeup.

I received this book when I was younger and used to go through the pictures everyday when I was tryign to apply make up before school. I was nostalgic for it, so i ordered it. Its a great book for beginners in make up

Read this book when I was 8 or 9 and loved it. Just read it again and it's still amazing! Literally the best beauty book out there!

I saw this book suggested somewhere on youtube. As the other review listed this book is completely useless for anyone over 12. Very basic introduction. I recommend Bobbi Brown's guide if you're looking to learn technique and useful tips.

The books last pages were all sticky and stuck together and had to take a knife to seperate them.
