The Exo Project

Good, Easy read, well written
Over all very good. More of a short story. Characters, story line and plot were excellent. Story lacked a little descripiveness, particularly about Gle'ah. Not the best I've read but I still really liked it.

Great read!
I looked forward to ending every day with this book. It was a fast-paced book with a great story and a lot of depth. Personally, I love good post-apocalyptic novel and sci-fi worlds. The EXOS Project does well in both genres. I'd recommend this even to sci-fi indifferent people.

A great book for people into science fiction and space and aliens and other things like that. Great use of wording and author's craft. Definitely 5 stars.

Gripping sci-fi
On the surface, THE EXO PROJECT is a gripping, page-turner, sci-fi YA novel. On deeper reflection, THE EXO PROJECT grapples with the philosophical question: Imagine you are trapped in a burning building with your sibling and five strangers. You know that you can get out safely, but you can only rescue one group. Who would you save? Now imagine that burning building is the Earth. You're probably safe, but do you choose to rescue humanity? Or an innocent and peaceful alien civilization? Matthew, the protagonist, has to make that choice while dealing with his growing feelings for Kiva, the leader of the alien society. With lots of wonderful world building and twists, it was easy to follow Matthew and Kiva on their journeys.

I loved the sci fi and world building of this novel--I ...
"My people...everything we touch we destroy."Wow! This book has the feel of an Orson Scott Card book--I trusted DeYoung's writing right away and felt pulled in, wanting to know more about the Exo Project and our protagonist Matthew. I loved the sci fi and world building of this novel--I won't give it away, but I will say that the details we get at the beginning are significant, and pay off in some really surprising, moving realizations. This novel is a powerful call, exhorting our world to change--but also showing the hope that humility and a willingness to listen can bring. A must-read, incredibly relevant book. I hope that we might see a sequel, or additional books set in this world in the future!
