Giles & Posner Mini Treat Maker -

I was looking forward to using this item to make cake pops. I turned on the machine for the first time and literally 30 seconds later I see alot of smoke coming from the bottom of the machine. I instantly turned the device off and left it to cool. I then too the plates off and saw scorch marks all over the bottom and top. And then all internal burn marks appearing on the outer plastic of the machine! Seriously dangerous and could have easily started a much bigger fire if I wasn't watching it.. all in 30secs very bad..

It does what it’s supposed to do, no better or worse than expected. However, in view of its upper end price, the lack of inclusion of any starter recipes lets it down massively. It is manufacturer arrogance to assume it’s easy for everyone to go and look up a recipe, and delays the start of a fun activity leaving a rather poor taste in everyone’s mouths. Disappointing.

On first use the thing blew up rather ceremoniously as a heating element failed. I think I was lucky to not have a fire. I was offered a replacement. Which I now have. Although I have used it, I am nervous to do so. I am not confident it will last long anyway as it is made rather cheaply.

I've only used the waffle maker so far but it comes with plates for cupcakes and donuts. The plates are easy to remove with a button. I make a thick pancake mix for the waffles. Good value.

Again its a christmas present but looking at it . It will be great
