The AMPAD Gold Fibre has been the top of the line pad for AMPAD for decades. The quality of the paper and fiberboard backing are superior quality. On this order, the pads I received must have slipped though QC because they are not perforated well at all. Every single sheet tears the sheet as off misaligned and not in line with the perforations. I'm not sure I'm going to buy these again through Amazon as I only have 30 days to return the product if there's a problem. I don't go through 3-4 note pads in 30 days. Caveat Emptor !

They hold well with fountain pens but they are definitely not the best pads around, there is much better pads with high end french paper but they are not as cost effective.The Ampad paper here is definitely among the best I found in Pads targeted at the american market. The paper has a good white color, is not feathering with the inks I tried and will resist well to bleed through with most inks as long as your pen is not too wet. Because the paper is rather sturdy it will usually tear off cleanly.

I keep these pads for adding letters to cards, keep track of things I want to look up on the computer (yes, the list is long) and write anything I want to remember or use later on one of the pads. If I wrote it down, 9 times out of 10 it will be found on my notepad. I've been using this system for a couple of years and don't know how I lived without it. This paper is smooth, easy to write on. I love paper and pens and I love a smooth flow across the page. It inspires me and opens up my creativity in words. I find these Ampad Gold Fibre Pads as an essential item in our home. So many uses.

the pads are excellent for a work environment when you need to rely them.I keep pads by my bed to record good ideas.

Seems like it should be hard to find anything wrong with such a simple item, but I find that the horizontal lines (I just found out that these are called "rules") are too dark. They sort of overpower what I write. This might seem like nitpicking, but it can actually be a problem, for example a "T" or an "L" can end up looking like a "1" or an "I". Maybe I just got a particularly dark batch. I have heavy handwriting so it would be even worse for those with a lighter touch.Other than that they are very nice pads - VERY solid cardboard back, tear off cleanly, very clean white pages (other than the darn lines).I went with only two stars, though, because I am buying more pads from a different manufacturer even though I have 7 of these left (unfortunately I bought two packs and didn't realize how much the lines bothered me until I had opened both). I'll try to get a photo up soon. Hope this is helpful information. :)

Like the quality of paper, great for daily notes but it could leak through if u use bold tip ink pen

NOT for fountain pens. I have many brands that vary from EF to M nib sizes with many ink brands… nothing I have worked.
