Very comfortable tap shoes.
I had a different pair but it was worth returning for these. I have returned to tap lessons as an adult, and these are also recommended by my dance teacher. For sizing, remember these are women's sizes and on top of that they run small. I normally wear a 7 1/2, but I ordered a full-size larger. I suggest that boys or men order at least 2 full sizes larger. I have used these once a week for a few months. They are soft and bendable. They do have a split sole like a jazz shoe. Very good quality.

Go up at least 2 to 2 and 1/2 Sizes from street shoe
So, we have to go up 2 and 1/2 sizes from street shoes for my 11 year old Daughter in these shoes. Many of our dance Team had to keep sending them back to get the right size. My 11 year old normally wears a size 7 in shoes. I hope the reviews help

Caution ...heel may fall off. Recital day and my daughter's heel fell off!
Great tap shoes! However...worn maybe 6 times and the heel fell off!!! I lifted up the insole and removed the nails that stuck up, then screwed the heels back on from the inside to hold the heels on. They work great now...but Bloch needs to fix this quality issue.

runs small
I usually wear an 8.5 shoe and the 9.5 was too small but 10 was perfect. FYI when the 2nd pair arrived from Amazon (size 10), it was clearly a pair that had been worn before. All laced up and tied oddly, scuffs on the taps on the bottom and on the leather on the sides of the shoes, box all dented up. Not ok under any circumstance. I have been buying Bloch dance athletic split sole shoes for 20 years and was shocked they would send out used shoes to me at new shoe price!

Although they sound good, stay away if you practice tap regularly
In rather disappointed, Bloch is a well known sillier of dance shoes, however, I guess time hasn't been too good with them quality wise, while this is my first pair in a decade I remember getting my favorite pair (black and white ) of tap shoes from them long ago, I saw the name and price while searching for some more to add to my collection and I recognized their name.I received my shoes in October and within two weeks I heard something rattling around inside, I assumed it was a small rock or something that got lodged in the gap between the tap and the heel so I paid it no mind, however, I found out the hard way (in the middle of practice ) what had actually happened was the nails that held the heel to the sole of the shoe had broken off inside, now I have two shoes with no heels and a rather sore heel due to the nail head being pushed into my foot as I caught my balance, I'm not sure I'll ever buy from them again. If I get the option I would love to post pictures, they didn't even last six months.

Great shoe. Runs small.
Great shoes and great quality. However, they do run small. I normally wear a 7.5. I originally ordered a 7.5 and they were way too tight and short. It felt like they were digging into my heels and my toes were tight up to the front. I returned them hassle-free. I ordered an 8.5 and they fit nicely. The leather is soft, yet snug. I've only worn them 2x but I'm told the leather will loosen up more, which will be fine. I've worn them with a lightweight footie sock.

I like them. They sound good and fit well with a little bit of toe room.
The color is a little off from the picture and is more of a warm tan. I bought these to get back into tap dancing and I think they will be good shoes for a beginner. I looked on the bloch website to see what the size chart is for tap shoes. I got a size 8 1/2 in this shoe & they fit my normal 6 1/2 -7 US street size. Just measure your foot and see what size works best for you.

Bought after reading reviews and reviewed after months of use
I have never tapped but decided to learn something new. My criteria was reasonably priced leather shoes from known tap shoe companies. I am a newbie so this review is a review of my first and only tap shoes.I am normally a 8.5 in Merrell sports shoes so after reading reviews and according to their size chart, I order 9.5 and the shoes fit as expected. There is no such thing as a break-in period in my books so either the shoes are comfortable or not, these are very comfortable. As with any equipment, you should inspect before using each time so to reviewers who said the heel went flying, all it takes it a tightening of the screws which I have done when I noticed the sound wasn't crisp. Now I do a quick check before I tap.As for sound quality, I don't have previous experience to compare, but the sound is crisp on my vinyl-tiled sheet of 5'x5' 3/4" melamine covered particle board (the usual melamine stuff). I have the board sitting on foam exercise tiles. What I have noticed is that the shoes leave black prints from the sole of the shoes on the floor (probably the anti-slip feature) and I now make a point of putting the shoes only on my tap board and staying only on the tap board when I have the tap shoes on. The tiles on my board are dark so the black sole prints are not as noticeable. There are only holes for the laces (as in no eyelets around the holes) so I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.Overall happy with the purchase.

Make sure you order a size up from street shoe
I love my mega taps, they sound fantastic. I'm normally a size 7.5 to an 8, but I ordered a 9 so that I would have a bit of room, and I can wear them with socks which is great. They were a good price from Amazon Warehouse deals, which was a bonus!

Order one size up!
I liked the shoes and was happy with the price. Unfortunately they were too small and I had to return them, which was an easy process. I am usually a size 6.5 - 7 shoe and ordered a size 7 in the Blochs. Probably could have gone with a 7.5 - 8. Would definitely recommend sizing up one full shoe size as recommended with these! I ended up purchasing a pair of Blochs in a similar style in-store and went with a 7.5. They fit snug at first but, after getting them stretched and breaking them in after a few short wears, they now fit perfectly.

Excellent value and great tap shoe!
Love this tap shoe and it's my first time taking tap so these work perfectly! Note that you need to order a size above your regular size for a proper fit.

great price
my daughter needed new Tap shoes, she is ladies street shoe size 7, I had to go up to a size 10 to find a pair of tap shoes that fit, I'm not sure why there is such a big difference, normally I only have to go up 1 size, not 3..that being said, the shoes are well made and she finds them her comfortable.
